We were in site 38(open side of campground) for 8 days. Our site was deceptively unlevel, where our front wheels ended up an inch or so off of the ground. We saw a few others that way too. The sites in treed part are rather close together and irregular in length, some very short, but the current reservation system is wonky and doesn’t list the site lengths. The open side of the campground is basically a gravel over asphalt parking lot, but the sites are bigger and do also have FHUs despite a previous review to the contrary. The park itself is nice, with playgrounds, a large open central area with several soccer fields and quite a few trails to hike. The park does get rather busy on the weekends and unfortunately there was a lot of colored eggshells all around the park, likely from some large Easter event they had there. There were about a dozen deer that frequented the open areas at night and we could hear a couple of coyote packs off in the distance. The park director, Devin, and staff were very friendly and helpful. AT&T coverage was ok, generally between 2-3 bars of LTE service, with speeds up to about 1.5 MB/s. Unfortunately, even though the WiFi had been recently upgraded, it was effectively useless, we couldn’t make a connection to several of the 6 routers and got next to zero throughput on the 2 we could. The park director said he hopes to upgrade to fiber at some point in the future, but said there was very little of it in the area, so it might take a while to get it. Since there were no trees on the open side, satellite coverage was not an issue, so we didn’t try to get any OTA channels. There is a nice restaurant, Hillside Texas Bistro, just a mile down the road.
