Good spot to stop if hiking in late

This campground is about 1.5 miles from the overnight hiking parking lot. I had to start my hike late in the day, and was able to get to this spot before dark to set up camp. This is the first campground you come to if you are approaching the loop trail east to west. And leaves about a 4 mile hike to Emory peak.

The campground is well marked with a JF1 sign out front. The are 2 areas with flat clear ground. Id say a 2 person tent could fit in each area. There is a bear container for food at the site. Some branches and large rocks for sitting. Pack in pack out.

The views are great from this site. You are still in the basin and have all the peaks surrounding the camp. The sun set behind some of the lower peaks and rose right through a crag in the mountains.
