Lilly Pad Campground, near the Obed Wild and Scenic River in Tennessee, is a unique spot that combines the charm of camping with the fun of a brewery right on site. ​There  are several acres of primitive sites in a wooded setting along the outskirts of the Obed Wild and Scenic River.  The national park is within walking distance and hosts some of the most beautiful scenery, amazing rock climbing, and challenging kayaking  in East Tennessee.
The campground is open all day every day.
It is 5.00 per person, per night.
Water and porta-potties available. 
​Firewood is provided for fires at designated sites only. 
Reservations are not required.

Great location (close to the obed). Friendly, happy group. They have a brewery in place with great beer options.
Bathrooms are two portapottys but well cleaned.


Awesome people!

This is one of the most eclectic places I’ve ever been. Almost felt like I was a traveling gypsy staying in this campground. Such a cool group of people and setup. It’s hard to even put this place into words. The campground is dispersed where you can choose anywhere you like to stay. You can find group sites or individual private sights tucked way back in the timber. The brewery on sight is a short walk from the campground and absolutely amazing. They grow their own hops on sight and have a food truck daily. The live music was awesome on Sat night. We had some added entertainment from one of the guys staying at the campground who shot flames out of his mouth while spinning a baton with flames on either end (I can’t make this stuff up)! You simply have to check this spot out because words can’t explain what you will experience. It’s only $5 per person per night and available 365 days a year and 24/7. Fires are not permitted during the summer. 

Like no place I have ever been

This is a place you really need to experience! The campground is multi acres of woods, it’s first come first served, but it’s so large, I can imagine it ever being too crowded. The cost is $5 per person, paid via honor system in the mailbox when you enter. 
It’s perfect for tents. We were limited on site selection with our rooftop tent, and I saw a couple teardrop campers, but you can’t take anything larger. There are several structures on the property for gathering around a fire pit, if you want to be social, or just walk up to the brewery! The campground did offer a family/group camp site on the other side of the brewery, but I don’t know that this is a place for kids. It was pretty wild at night! A live band playing until the early morning hours, and drinks flowing among the thru hikers and rock climbers, bachelorette party group, and gypsies staying in the campground! 

Two portable toilets were in the campground, they could use a good cleaning, but depending on the site you choose, you probably would be better off just using nature anyway. 

The brewery serves beer that’s brewed on site, with hops also grown on site! Super cool! They have a food truck there too, where they serve pulled pork sandwiches, nachos, hot dogs and sausages, etc. 

We will return to the Lilly Pad, but will take a tent and seek out a more secluded site, and will take advantage of the swimming hole, and the Obed River nearby! 

Crazy cool camping PLUS a brewery!

You can't beat a campsite with a brewery attached. Wonderful climbing spots only a short jot away. My favorite spots are along the bluff. Will definitely revist again. Also gpr some reason i saved the wifi. You only get it next to the double wide though. Lilly pad campground wifi:

Wonderful climbing heaven

Love this fun little place! It even comes with a guard dog, Big. Super friendly dude. They are just getting their campgrounds back up and going. They are making new spots and just recently opened camping again. Great place to stay. They made me feel very comfortable being a female solo camper. They were super accommodating and helped me find the perfect spot to sling up my hammock. They had a great selection of beer, food, and even homemade ice cream. Bath house was clean and fresh cold water from the tap at the bar. Big bundles of good firewood. Wifi only at the brewery area which is perfectly fine for my camping style. They even had a band Friday night. I’ll definitely be back. The only thing I found to be four star instead of five is the mosquitoes. They were BAD. I sprayed down in deet multiple times and still had at least a dozen bites. Could be from the construction of new spots and the really wet weather recently but I’d recommend bringing lots of bug repellent stuff to help. Some of the spots aren’t very private or secluded if that’s something you prefer. There is some road noise but it’s not a busy road.
