Overview
Fireside Outpost is a privately operated campground in Delano, Tennessee, situated between Cherokee National Forest and Hiwassee Ocoee State Park, near the Hiwassee River. The property offers five cabins, RV sites with full hookups, and tent/van sites ranging from primitive to electric-and-water, making it a flexible base for outdoor enthusiasts in the Southern Blue Ridge Mountains.
Facilities
The property features a central bathhouse with hot showers and restrooms. RV and van campers can choose from off-grid, electric-only, electric-and-water, or full hookup (electric/water/sewer) sites. Five individual cabins each have private fire areas and picnic tables; one cabin includes a full private bathroom and kitchen. Internet access (WiFi) is available. A communal firepit is also on-site.
Recreation
Guests are within a short walk or drive of a beach area on the Hiwassee River with kayaking access. The nearby Bluff Trail is a popular hike for all skill levels. The property serves as a trailhead for gravel and bikepacking routes including the Dirty 130 and Vista & Mountain routes.
