Rough Road

The road in from Sisters is very rough. Then when you get to the road to the camp it’s even worse. We talked to a park ranger who said the contractors lost the contract to do maintenance. The ruts and pot holes are the size of a small car, so if you have a big rig you can make it just drive extremely SLOW!

The Lake is beautiful and abundant with fish. Brookies and Rainbow Trout mostly.

People were swimming and the air temp got down to 30 at night and maybe 70 during the day. The water temp was way colder.

We took our canoe out a few days, (no motorized boats allowed on the lake) some days it got to windy. It was beautiful even with the nearby fire going on, there was a lot of smoke.

We stayed a week. There is no fee at this time due to the lack of camp hosts and contractors who couldn’t keep up maintenance. The bathrooms are RANCID. But are stocked with TP. I would still advise bringing your own.

No water. No trash. No electricity. The sites are super close together, so not a lot of privacy.

I definitely would have gave it 5 stars if the road was in better condition and i didn’t think we were going to roll our rig in a ravine.

This is a very popular spots with the locals, so a lot of young people partying (not just on weekends).

Not a lot of bugs. A few flies and A LOT of bees. I would suggest bringing some sort of bee catcher. We picked one up at a store in Sisters.

There are about 10 to 12 spots. Not really numbered.

My favorite lake!

I love three creeks lake! The lake is small, lots of fish, every area around the lake is beautiful!

The campsites around the lake ate all on a small hill side, we camp with our car, so it made running back and forth when we needed things a bit of a hassle. But that wasnt too big of a deal!

Fire pits and picnic tables were at everysite as well as parking pull ins at most of them! All are right on the side of the lake!

Too many people

The new management company definitely forgets to make the rounds. The place was packed with day users and campsites were overcrowded (12 cars next to us, 25 people in one site). It is a lovely lake but human impact may shut it down.

I'm sure covid has played a part, but the reserve system is bringing in a different type of camper than we are comfortable with, and pushing away those "in exploration mode".

I hope something happens soon before the area degenerates into a dog park/party place.

Family friendly campsite!!!

This campsite is perfect for families. The lake is large enough to kayak, paddle board, or fish in. Bonus for families with small kids is a beach like area with shallow water. Don’t forget to day hike up further to see a couple hidden pools of water. Check out the small store and grab some ice-cream!!! The one downside is no running water so make sure to bring enough for drinking, cleaning and cooking with. Also, get there early since sites are first come first and don’t cost. For a family with five kids we will for sure be back!!!

Amazing Lake

What a great spot to camp. I just spent 3 days there with my son. The campground has numbered lots that surround the lake. Great views of the water and you can see the 3 Sisters mountains as well. Be sure to hike the Tam McArthur rim trail to get up above the lake and see it all.

Cons: mosquitos and flys. Not terrible but definitely an issue for us. Nothing some bug spray wouldn’t fix.
