We stayed overnight in #67 in the primitive section of the campground. It was completely private surrounded by trees that were full of birds! Primitive area has pit toilets but the shower room and flush toilets were a short walk away. There was a store at the entrance selling snacks, wood, etc. Nice stay.
Open year round. Per Ranger Water is available year round on sites 1-6, but won’t show up on website. Sites by online reservation only. Arrived about 8pm. Maybe 6 other campers, mostly fishermen. Beautiful place, lovely campgrounds. Electric only at this time. Pit toilets. No water. All sites are spacious and level with gravel pad and grassy lawn. Lots of pull through sites. One night only for us. $42.00 4-27-24
This is a nice State campground in the Devils Lake Area. It has wooded and semi private sites in the primitive tent area. One part of the camper trailer area can be fairly wide open. Great place to launch your boat, fish station to clean your catch and nice swim area and playground for the kids. Devils Lake area itself can be somewhat of a boring area unless you love fishing
Stayed one night, 10/15/22 on a road trip. Not as close to the 2 as I expected but it wasn’t a bad drive, even at dark. It was a 7$ fee to enter, and a separate online transaction for a campsite and they charged a processing fee. But seeing as many campsites are closed in October we were just happy to be there. Very large campsite. Driving around all the campsites had reserved tags hung on them, but online they were available and there were no people in any of the sites? We stayed in the Primitive camp, down to the water and off to the left. The camp was a little confusing to negotiate at night, but after a couple of missed roads we found a spot. Fire pit and picnic table. There seemed to be plenty of trees for wind protection and privacy. There was a fenced in DOG PARK, which was AWESOME! Lots of amenities for the in season camper, we still had access to the vault toilets, and water was available up by the camp store but we only knew that because we waited until the morning and asked the person running the camp store.
Howard campground has giant, shaded, very private spots. We could barely see our neighbors. Our site had pasture land behind all the trees, and the sunsets were amazing.
We loved the dog park and mowed trails. Most of the park was immaculate. From the mowing of the grass to the cleaning of the shower house.
Our only 2 gripes were that 1) there are no dumpsters in Howard campground. You have to drive/walk your trash out to the dump station. And 2) the deep toilets weren’t cleaned. Poop appeared on the floor the second day of our stay. That poop remained for the entire week. Toilet paper was replenished and trashes were dumped, but the poop remained.
We were there early in the season, but it was very quiet and well kept. We arrived late in the day and the directions were clear.
Extremely friendly and helpful park employee check in. The park was pleasantly quiet and the bathroom was very clean!
We were originally going to spend two nights at Grahams, but we enjoyed the island vibe and decided to add two additional nights to our stay. The park was full, but managed to place us in a few different sites! We were totally fine with packing up the camper and moving around, it gave us more experience and reason to work on our communication and process. There was a large influx of fisherman and a large boat ramp. We wanted to swim, but stuck with walking in the water as the swim area was busy with the sun shine.

We stated at Graham’s Island the first part of October. No crowds to speak of. Nice trails friendly staff. Would like to return with the paddle boards when the weather is nicer.
Well kept park. We stayed in the Ziebach campground. It has trees, water and electricity. There is another campground with full h/u but no shade and costs more. There is also fully shaded primitive tent camping on the water. There is a sanitary dump and small store. Great shower house. Very clean and quiet. Many boaters there is a ramp there.
Great spot!! Stopped here on our family vacation. Nice campsites (loop), very clean! Friendly hosts - gave the kids tattoos & stickers. Swim beach was great. Lots of great skipping rocks! Playgrounds were nice & not busy. Nice trails.

If you enjoy fishing, this is the place for you. The park is located on Devil’s Lake which is a fisherman’s paradise regardless of time of year. The park office resembles more of a fishing store than it does a park office, and the fish cleaning area was always full with people and their catch from that day. We stayed in a very private site (primitive site 64) right next to the lake. There were plenty of trees for shade and we felt secluded even though the campground was full. There are more open areas which seemed popular with the RV crowd- 3 separate campgrounds full. There is a boat launch as well. The walk to the bathroom was a little far from our site, but the larger bathrooms near the more popular RV areas were clean and had showers.
This campground is very clean. Thanks to the wardens for letting us know about storms in our area and where we go for shelter. Really enjoyed our stay
Nice flat tenting area with plenty of shade and plenty of views. It was a blast there
wonderful little stay for a wedding weekend at the campground event center. camped in primitive spot and we're pleasantly surprised by the large size of our spot. easy to pick a more private, or communal spot as you prefer. bath houses are kept clean and are rather nice. dog park is nothing more than a little fenced off piece of ground, but gets the job done and allows for off leash time. the event center is really nice with kitchen, bathrooms, outdoor seating, and playground. lots to do at this lake campground. staff was very helpful and accommodating with the event and camping.
there was smoke blown from the wild fires during our visit. made for some interesting sunrises and sunsets.
This park is on an island in the middle of a beautiful huge lake. You just drive out over a bridge, very pretty. If you don’t want to camp you can use it just to launch your boat for a day of fishing or use their very easy hiking trails. Close to the reservation and various Native American cultural areas.
Yay: shady trees, huge sites, some sites are fairly private, really clean.
Nay: kinda in the middle of nowhere, some sites are extremely open and sunny, not great for swimming.
Surprise: There can be flooding. In the winter I believe they have cross-country skiing?
