Beautiful views and nice soak!

We’ve been here several times. Sometimes we camp here, sometimes we soak, then head to nearby Bob Scott campground. There are several pools. We usually try to find an empty one. Beautiful views and love the Burro visits at dusk. No facilities but some rock fire rings. Please pack it in/pack it out!! I wish people didn’t set up their camp right on top of tubs! There is plenty of space to spread out a little and it makes for a much more pleasant soaking experience.

Nice campground

Our 2nd time here. First time we had a spectacular view of the comet Neowise. Some sites along river. As with any campground, some sites close together. Campground was pretty empty this time and we could pick site. Water, flush toilets, although bathrooms not well cared for and smelled bad. Loop A seemed more our style, no big rigs. No sign of campground host. Nice hiking trail along river. Peaceful evening with a lightning and thunder show!

Hidden Gem

Stumbled upon this small campground. 6 sites around a grassy area. Oak, maple and cottonwoods and a creek. 4 group sites and 13 more sites up canyon past group sites, some along the creek. Water, pit and flush toilets, no garbage. There was a trailer in site #1 but didn’t see anyone. Beautiful full moon rise over canyon! Quiet and peaceful but a surprising amount of traffic on the gravel road up the canyon past campground. There are more camping spots up the road. Plantation Flat is a primitive campground in a pine forest. It was full of OHV campers. Looked like they were there for awhile.

Nice campground

Nice small campground. The Columbine loop had lots of trees that provided privacy from other sites but the campground wasn’t full. Campground hosts were super nice and friendly. Clean bathrooms and water is up and running.

Peaceful campground

Supposed to be good birding here but nothing special. Reservoir was low but ppl fishing, tubing and having fun. Some sites close together along reservoir. We camped near tent sites at far end of campground in cottonwoods. No neighbors so peaceful. Clean pit toilets and water. Campground lights drowned out the stars :(

Big spacious campground

Big campground along river. Sites spaced nicely apart. Some riverfront sites with view. Trees, grass, bike path. Lots to do here. We camped at #116. This part seemed less crowded. We had no neighbors. Very pleasant. Clean bathrooms and warm showers!

Nice but crowded campground

Nice campground with grassy pull thru sites. But very close together. If full, you would have no privacy. Fortunately, it was 1/4 full, so no problem. Bathrooms clean, nice warm showers! Nice beach, lots to do. Would be a fun place if you don’t mind camping next to neighbors!

Small campground

Well used county park on a nice clear lake. The sites are close together with little privacy and close to the road which is noisy during the morning and evening but quiets down at night. Lots of kids! Nice to see families camping and having fun! Swimming, fishing, riding bikes, playground. Clean bathrooms (at least the women’s). Not our cup of tea but fine for a one night stopover. Loons calling at night and in the morning!

Small peaceful campground

Nice peaceful campground with large sites nicely spaced apart for privacy. We stayed in #6 (non-electric but there are lots of electric sites.) Cleanest pit toilet ever with many amenities!! Mirror, shelf, hooks, hand sanitizer, garbage can, reading material on wall listing ‘things to do’!! Showers clean too with plenty of warm water. Saw some fireflies, no mosquitoes!! We had a very pleasant one night stay.

Well kept small campground

Well kept small campground. Clean pit toilets, no water. Beautiful trees and great birds! We were the only ones there mid July, mid week. Good for a one night stay away from the hubbub of Chadron SP. Only downside is the noise from the road.

Nice peaceful campground

Small gem along the Green River. Open habitat with cottonwoods and willows. Great birds! And access to river for fishing. Some mosquitos in the evening but not bad. Thoroughly enjoyed our one night stopover here.

Clean pleasant campground

Camped in the more open area (72E in campground 2). Large grassy sites with fire pit and picnic table. Clean bathrooms with hot showers. Nice path around lake for walking the dog. Lots of families having a good time! Very pleasant evening.

Ok stop for the night

Stopped here for the night. We stayed in the tent section with our teardrop trailer. Not many other tenters so we had the grassy site to ourselves. Site 609 was very close to bridge into LaCrosse so it was noisy but not as bad as I expected. The RV sites were pretty packed in but campers were having fun! Pit toilets were disgusting but the shower house with toilets was clean. Laundry available too. Drinking water close by.

Quiet and peaceful

We first checked out the ‘South CG’ and although it was on the lake, it was waaay too crowded for us. So we moved on to the west shore CG and it was def more our style. Quiet and rustic. From our site #9 we could hear some road traffic but we had a whole loop to ourselves. Pit toilets were very clean. No electricity. Campground not on the lake but the picnic area is. And if you want a shower you can take one at the south campground for $5.

Riverfront Campground

We camped in the Riverfront campground. No one else there on a Thursday night so we had the whole river to ourselves. Very peaceful. Good-sized grassy sites. Table, fire ring, water, pit toilet. Large park with plenty of amenities. We were only stopping for the night so we didn’t explore the other areas. Nice overlook of the river and 3 states.

Small beautiful campground

Small, peaceful camping spot. Great birds! Gravel road in is in good shape (about 5 miles). Just before the final climb to the campground there is a creek that needs to be crossed. It is paved but heavy rains might make it difficult. Just before the creek crossing on the east side of the road there is a camping/picnic area that is a possible location.

Once you enter the park there are 2 sites in a large grassy area to the right with picnic tables, fire pits and garbage (recycling too!). We stayed in #1 and it was very pleasant with a beautiful view of the surrounding area. Turn left at the T following the horse/motor home signs. There are 3 more sites here. Pump water and very clean pit toilets here. This is the horse area. There is another site down the road to the right with table, fire pit and pit toilet.

Nice spot

Beautiful campground just off Highway 26. Loop A sites have electric hookups and Loop B is primitive. Water located near the entrance. Loop B is peaceful and quiet (farther from the road than A). Spacious sites. The pit toilets are very clean. There is a waterfall a short walk away. Yes, there were some mosquitos but nothing to write home about! We arrived on a Tuesday evening and there were several open sites.

Quiet and peaceful

Small campground on a reservoir that was quite low. Sites are close together but there weren’t many people so no big deal. Douglas fir provides lots of shade. Clean bathrooms, flush toilets and warm showers! Quiet and peaceful.

Nice easy stop

Lovely Pinyon-Juniper forest. Picnic table, fire pit & BBQ stand. Water and flush toilets. No trash-Pack In/Pack Out. Several sites aren’t level but didn’t matter to us. A peaceful place to camp but some minor hwy noise at night. August 2024 update: stayed here again. No potable water. Plans in the work to upgrade, pave and level sites, increase fee. Hope they don’t ruin its rustic charm.

Scenic!

Awesome views! The usual picnic table, fire pit, water. Unusual double shared sites. You share parking, tables are separated by covered shelter but your neighbor is very close! We didn’t have neighbors so perfect. Bathrooms could be cleaner, free warm shower (great water pressure!) but doesn’t drain very well. Beautiful sunset and sunrise!
