Great stay

If your going to be on Long Island ,Suffolk county is really only RV friendly place.Worth buying green key card for resident access.200 but you’d spend that 4 nights regardless.Very clean campgrounds lots of space. Not much to do inside the grounds.

Big Rig Camping in Blydenburgh

We have a 42 ft 5th wheel toy hauler. A few Big Rig spots are available, but this is a Suffock Co Campground that is not well maintained. 2 miles of the Road have many areas of missing blacktop making a very rough ride with low branches. The dump station is basically not accessible to a big rig. Most of the longer sites were very difficult to level.

A Long Island secret

We visited in late July. Park was excellent. Grounds were as advertised. Family friendly. Lots of long haulers it seemed around the sites. Ranger drove around a few times to say hi. Trails were awesome. Row boat for fishing was great. Not a party or for party site as alcohol is not allowed but I believe if your an adult your good to have an adult beverage. If your playing beer pong I think it would be strictly enforced.

Small but Big

Camping area itself is small, but park is good sized with an excellent lake and hiking.

Solid 4 stars

Good campground. Good hiking, clean, close facilities and well maintained. Lake is great and only a short walk, but no swimming. Sites are open and fairly close would be only negative.

Fun Local Getaway

Great park with a nice 7 mile loop around the lake with decent fishing. Lots of horses and dogs on the trail. 30 or so sites around a central public restroom. Everyone was nice and we had a great time.

A gem of long island Feels like upstate camping in group camping area

The group camping on the fox sites is accessible by a dirt drive in. I felt like I was suddenly transported upstate when in fact I had only driven 2 towns over, (about 20 minutes from home.) I have lived on Long Island for my entire life never knew great camping was minutes away. Group camping has a limit of 2 cars per site. This helped support a feeling of secluded tranquility campers only from forest camping rather than feild camping. Additional cars can park in guest parking lot. I went during heavy rain and had so much fun driving up a long muddy way. The hiking trails were quiet natural and and clean. The trails I exposed were well marked. The fox 9 site was a long enough walk I needed to plan my trips to the bathroom. Other sites were spaced enough to allow a true feeling of escaping into the woods.

Blydenburg - quick trip, close to home

This park is about 6 minutes away from our home. It's a small park. It's great if you have little ones. Dogs are welcome. There's a large dog run so the fur babies will have a great time too. Staff is super nice. Bathrooms are just okay. Sites are close and very buggy but "tis the season". We didn't explore the trails but heard they were good.
