Fun campground for family paddling
Campground has some great sites ( river sites best for paddling), beach sites ( some have a very high cement wall with a drop off to the beach- not recommended for families with dogs or small children). 10 showers total for the whole campground, but was oddly never busy whenever we went to use it. There is a bench outside the showers with an electrical outlet you can charge things if you have to wait. Flush toilets in the bathrooms and an electrical outlet in them as well. Our site 87 was large, on the river and shaded. Not too far from the bathrooms and had a water spigot close enough to hook up to fill our water tank. They had daily (9&5) ice and wood for sale- listen for the bell of the truck. We also had an ice cream truck come through with soft serve ice cream! Although this was 'dry camping' I really didn't miss the electric hook up as we were able to use the generator for a few hours as needed ( during specified times). We rented kayaks and a canoe from down the road Adirondack River rentals and they delivered and picked up from our site. There weren't any real hiking trails at the campground but I'm sure there were some nearby. Walmart is within about 20 minutes if you forget anything. We visited during COVID restrictions so there was not much open.
