Not the best

This is a rustic campground in the white mountains near the town of Conway. It’s small and the sites are pretty close together. The sign entrance was small and we missed it the first time entering. The campground has 2 hiking trails but that’s about it. I would only camp here again if we needed a place to spend the night. We were at site 10 and it was level but didn’t provide any privacy from the neighboring sites (next door was the host)

Great base camp for Conway area

The sites are well spaced, well maintained and provide you with a picnic table and fire pit. The host here is very friendly and offers the sale of firewood for $8 a bundle. The campsite is close to the Conway area and the Kancamagus. The campground is off Route 16 so there is some traffic noise but not much in evening.

Simple but suitable

Simple campsite. Water spigot and vault toilets, dumpsters all within easy walking distance of all sites. Great spot to start Carter Ledge Trail to hike Three Sisters and Mount Chocorua.

Campground is directly next to Rt 16, so expect to hear some road noise, more so during the day. Whole site is very quiet at night.

Great base camp for hiking.

Rustic with road noise, but great location for hiking, climbing, exploring

White Ledge Campground is in the White Mountain National Forest and should not be confused with nearby White Lake State Park. Located a few miles south of the Kancamagus and Conway, you have ready access to the Carter Ledge trail up Mt Chocurua or shorter loop trails.

The sites are generally large and wooded. Designated tent sites are not suitable for RVs/trailers because the site may require a short walk or steps. Facilities include potable water and vault toilets. There are no hookups and no dump station. The lack of amenities contributes to the low fee of$20/night, though online reservation fees will add somewhat to that. If you want a shower, they are available at Jigger Johnson campground along the Kancamagus Hwy, about 20 minutes away.

If you head up on a holiday weekend, get an early start or be ready for traffic. The loop for sites 14-28 parallels NH16; you WILL hear and even see road traffic and Rte 16 is busy.  Sites 2-5 are more open, larger, and suitable for RV or tent. Site 10 is a nicely wooded, level site for tent or RV. About half the sites are reservable. The campground is open Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend.

A Definite Gem !

The sites are clean. It is beautiful . We hiked the White Ledge Loop which was 4.1 miles and got amazing views . The brooks running through are beautiful . Just a super awesome hidden gem. Anyone who gets to camp there and do the hike will have a great experience. We plan on going back a lot more . You can hear a bit of traffic and not very big but you are not crammed in and don't even barley notice . Try it out and see.

Great location!

In an area full of private, season-long, and RV-centric campgrounds, this is a true gem for tent campers. Easy to find, close to the action of Conway/North Conway, hiking trails straight out of the campground, and spacious campsites all make this a great place to stay for a few days. The vault toilets are clean and well-located. Visited last summer (2017) and am already booked to go back again later this summer!

A beautiful and unforgettable trip

We were 4 families with 4 adjoining sites. We had plenty of room and tge campground was spotless. There was access to clean fresh water and a beautiful river which we swam and played in everyday. The nature was remarkably beautiful. We did plenty of hiking and exploring it was a trip we took every father's day weekend and the prices were very affordable. If you ever get the opportunity do yourself a favor and spend some time there you will have wonderful memories for the rest of your life. You may even become a frequent visitor.

White ledge campground

We ended up here as a last resort before having to turn home. After getting a late start to our hike we didn't pull into our first campsite choice until 630. On a July saturday evening in the New Hampshire White Mountains, not a good thing. All 5 campgrounds on the kancamangus were full and we had to resort to White Ledge, about 6 miles past the kancamangus. Luckily there were a few sites left, and for good reason. The sites were decent enough and the facilities clean. However the proximity to the busy road was unfortunate. We could here cars the entire night which was a little annoying. Overall if you need to camp in a pinch because everything is busy it's not a bad option, just not the best.

Goal Zero Lighthouse 250 Review.

On the upside I got to try this awesome lantern that I won from TheDyrt last month! This lantern is perfect for car camping - a little too bulky for backpacking. Firstly, it seemed to hold a good charge throughout the entire time. It was also extremely bright and lite up the entire site for us. It had an option for a directional light which was good because we got there late and we're trying not to bug the site next to us. It was not as bright on the directional setting (kinda obvious) but still did the trick. It feels like it is going to be quite rugged and I love the stand it has on it. The ability to charge something with it is awesome, and to crank it if you lost a charge. Very interested to try both of these options in the future. The one thing I was disappointed with is there is no clip I could find to hang it from the tent. You can clip on the stand but it hangs lopsided, not a deal breaker by any means. Overall this is a great lantern and would definitely recommend it! Thanks Dyrt!
