The seven-site RV park, located on the north shore of scenic Echo Lake in Franconia Notch State Park, is open year-round. The RV park provides a great base from which to enjoy hiking, biking, fishing, swimming, and the many attractions of the White Mountains. They include The Flume and Cannon Mountain aerial tramway, which are both located within Franconia Notch State Park. In addition, many campers enjoy the convenience of winter RV camping at the base of popular Cannon Mountain Ski Area.

**Cannon RV Park is strictly an RV Park, but will allow pop-ups, if all 3 services are used.**

- **All campers MUST be self-contained with water, electric and sewer hookups.**
- **You must be hooked up to all three services (water, electric, & sewer) when available to utilize this facility.**
- Electric is the only service available between the Tuesday following Columbus Day and the Thursday before Memorial Day Weekend.
- Cannon RV Campground RV Park is in the Echo Lake Beach parking area. 
- Water turned off from the Tuesday following Columbus Day and the Thursday before Memorial Day Weekend.

There is limited to no cell service at this park. Service may vary based on the provider.

**There is a new cancellation policy in effect as of 2/1/2024**

- Full refund minus transaction fee if you cancel at least 10 + days prior to the scheduled arrival date.
- Full refund minus reservation fee plus cost of one night of camping if you cancel 4-9 days prior to the scheduled arrival date.
- No refund if you cancel 0-3 days from your scheduled arrival date.
**NH State Parks does not issue refunds due to insects or weather.**

## **Fee Information:** 
- The nightly base site fee pays for 2 adults only and up to 4 dependent children under 18. You must be 18 to register for a campsite. 
- Extra adults are $10 per night. Additional children are $5 per night
- NH Senior Citizens are given a $5 per night discount to all campgrounds with the exception of Cannon Mountain RV, Ellacoya, and Hampton Beach. 
- NH Seniors must bring their NH photo ID for discount verification. 
- NH State Employees are given a 50% discount on campsites with the exception of yurts and cabins.
- NH State Employees must bring their State ID or current paystub for discount to be applied. 
  

The discount will be provided once verified at the Cannon Mountain Guest Services between November 27th and April 15th.

The Best Camping Near Franconia, New Hampshire

This is one of our favorite trips every year! The campground is small, only 7 sites, but located at the base of Cannon mountain nestled next to Echo lake it's simply breathtaking! No frills but has full hook ups since 2016\. A definite must see!

Small, private and quiet

This is as the other reviewer states a small spot of seven full service campsites. The sites are narrow, a little bigger than a parking space, especially because of the trees in between the sites. We stayed at site four. Site seven looks to be the best because no trees on one side let’s you have some room. We were ble to extend our slide out, but not our awning.

Perfect for a stopover.

Perfect for ski bums.  Access to xcs, downhill, and snow machine trails.  

Ski bum camping 

On the far side of the parking lot at Echo Lake Beach/Cannon Mountain you'll find 7 RV, full-hookup sites. Reservations are recommended in the summer, but from Columbus Day to mid May you may have a chance with walk-up. Be sure to check the entry station for any reservations so you don't have to move later when someone shows up to claim their spot. The rates drop after Columbus Day and the water is turned off.

  

 There is a grassy area behind the RV sites. You'll enjoy more privacy farther from the beach entry. There are coin-operated showers at the Lafayette Place campground a few miles south.

  

During the summer there is a beach at Echo Lake offering boat rentals. A public boat launch is on the far end of the lake. There's a small lakeside store open when the beach is open. Just across the street is the short but rewarding hike up Artists Bluff, giving you a view into Franconia Notch; continue along the ridge and you'll enjoy the western views from from Bald Mountain. The 8.8 mile multi-use (bike/pedestrian) recreation trail runs on the far side of Echo Lake through Franconia Notch State Park. In the winter, there's skiing at Cannon Mountain. The tram offers a quick route to the summit for different views of the autumn colors.

  

If you aim to hike Franconia Ridge, on the weekend you can catch a shuttle from the Cannon skier parking lot. With a family, explore the Flume gorge, the Pemi trail, the Basin, and the New England Ski Museum.  Within easy driving distance are tourist spots in Woodstock and Lincoln to the south, the Cog Railway up Mt Washington to the northeast, and Santa's Village 35 minutes north.

  

Polly's Pancake Parlor is a few minutes up the road in Sugar Hill if you'd like a robust breakfast, but call ahead to shorten your wait times. If you've forgotten something, Littleton offersa wide selection of shopping only 15 minutes away.
