The Best Camping Near Fremont, Nebraska

My wife and I stayed where with a group of friends for a week. Great car camping experience here! We camped right along the water. We had sites 210 and 211 right on Victory Lake. The fishing was great and we had a lot of kayaking to do. There are a ton of available sites here right on the water. There is access to bathrooms and water nearby, and showers a little further up. We mostly cooked over campfire but there is a restaurant and we did head there while kayaking for a burger break. There is a swimming beach and you can get on the water for skiing and tubing if you like. While the campsites were crowded the water wasn't, so we didn't have too many motor boats to contend with while paddling. We really enjoyed this place and if we are in the area again this will be our spot.

The lake was awesome, not much shade on most tent sites. make sure you ask when they dredged the lakes that you want to stay on.

Nice, clean campground. One of the state parks, so kind of crowded, but still pretty quiet. Plenty of swimming beaches, one near the campground store, which has almost everything you need or forgot. There's two separate sections, and the North campground is not reservable, but it's much quieter. Plenty of fishing here, too.

It is great to back in and be right on a sandy beach area. This was a gravel pit site in the 1950-60s so water is deep and lakes are on small side..You may make reservations ahead, which is helpful due to this being the only full service hookups we could find. Representatives were readily available, sites were clean, and you can move without any hassle.

With tent and RV camping, this is a great place for a quick getaway if you live in Southeast Nebraska. There are picnic facilities and a snack bar, but you're also not too far from Fremont where you can buy supplies or grab something to eat. There is not much privacy as a side effect of having few trees. The lake is stocked so it's a decent spot for fishing.

Best for a short camping trip or day trip

Definitely more of a party campground. There are a bunch of lakes and a bar in the park. The bathrooms are gross, but they flush and there are showers. 

If you want to party

2nd time we’ve camped here. Love that it’s right by the water. Nice big spots with plenty of room. Only downside was this last time we saw a few people let their animals run but that shouldn’t be on the park. All in all a great place to camp!

I tent camped in the old lakes part of the campgrounds. There are at least a dozen small lakes part of the grounds. The new lakes are busy and full of RVs.
If you want a less busy area, find the older section.

Big beautiful sites, BUT there is a very busy set of train tracks that run about every 20 minutes all day and all night. Didn't get any sleep, even with earplugs. Plus, it's right next to a busy highway so you get to hear the locals revving their over-sized trucks into the early hours.

Facilities were very clean. Cleanest I have ever seen in a campground. 

Tons of water, a few trails, lots of sites to camp.
