Sunny spot at the fork in the river and center to a variety of trailheads

17 miles from town - you don’t know what to expect. There is a nice river bubbling past. Conifers inhabit the hillside. Flies and ants abound in our camp.

We took the site on the west thinking to get afternoon shade. The trees are far away though. Luckily the day is overcast and the temperature stays manageable. The vault toilet is in the center of the small loop. Each site has plenty of space but only distance separates us from other campers. A water pump is by the pay station.

Just down the road is a trail head for hiking. We took advantage and found a forest recovering from a burn. It’s interesting to see how it is growing back. A man road his bike (complete with front wicker basket) to the river to fish. This is a place to enjoy tranquility. Our screen room keeps the flies at bay and a book fills our mind.

The road here passes many interesting homes and a few other small campgrounds. We drove further and found the end of the road at Moose Creek. It appears to have more trails along the way and down some split off roads. Signs give mule deer hunting limitations so be careful of the season.
