      Flint Creek Waterpark

      Nice Park

The best sites are the first come first serve sites. These sites are in the Mohawk area. I would avoid the Kahaka area if you want a beach area as there isn’t one. All the bathrooms have no air conditioning. There are boat launches and many sites that you can anchor your boat at or near by.

      Keesler AFB FamCamp

      Small spaces and disappointing experience

We reserved 4 months ago, only to get there and find out there may be an issue with our dogs (2 max and we have 3...well behaved dachshunds. When we reserved, they "penciled us in". No deposit and no information, other than our name and dates. Got there for our reservation and told that we cant have three dogs there and either have to board one or leave. When i said we had nowhere to go, they were willing to let us stay one night so we could find other accomodations for the next few days, but after that warm welcome, even one night was not an option. Never were we told pets would be an issue, we never got a confirmation email that mentioned pets, and then to arrive and find out we had to find somewhere else to stay was disappointing to say the least. We were able to stay the night at Shield, so we went over there to work on our plans for the next few days. So glad we did, as the sites were much larger, much more private and the office staff was very accomadating with our last minute reservation. Apparently Keesler is adding sites, so it may be better next year, but currently the sites are close together with a fire pit in the center. For the hour we did sit in our site, we had to keep the windows closed because of the smoke. Another issue...the drive in was sketchy for a high profile 5th wheel, with low hanging trees and narrow streets. Lastly, for those lookong for the security and conveniences of staying at a famcamp, this fam camp is off base.

Huge Park with Tons of Amenities

This park is giant! There are probably over 200 sites for camping in this park with beachfront sites and even primitive drive up sites for tent camping back in the woods. The park has 2 shower areas and 4 bathrooms on site as well as multiple playgrounds for the kiddos and even a water park! It is located directly across the street from the Gulf of Mexico and has its own private beach. I stayed in the primitive camping sites for 2 nights because all other sites were reserved for the weekend and it was great. No electric hookup or water but the sites are privately tucked away in the woods and only cost 15$ per night. If you want, you can stay beachfront for 48$ and I believe the regular sites with hookups and water are around $30 per night. The park itself is very well maintained and has ice and drinks for sale in the front office. The employees are extremely nice and helpful and will even tell you about fun things to do in town while you’re there. Definitely the biggest and one of the nicest campgrounds/state parks I’ve stayed in. Worth the trip!

      Buccaneer State Park Campground

      Close to the beach

Site is hit and miss. Beautiful pool closed due to covid.

Primitive camping looked great. Loops are dependent on site—shady spots on the exterior are great but the interior spots can be garbage. The spots along beach Blvd have a great view but it’s in a parking lot next to the water park.

The women’s bath houses were terrible—mildew, frogs, mosquitoes, always a running tap.

      Boomtown Casino RV Park

      Queen of Hearts

The park was filled with friendly campers who made this place enjoyable. The price was a win. The site itself was very basic without Wi-Fi and an old fashion looking water pump. There is a cut field for dogs to run however it is only fenced on 3 sides. Location is in walking distance to the Boomtown Casino.

      Nice 3 Day Stay

Enjoyed spending 3 nights in this large, family oriented state park campground. Camped in a camper van, but most sites appear to be big rig friendly. About a half-dozen freight trains pass close by the campground; noisy, especially where we camped in the Treaure Cove loop. There is also some vehicle noise on a nearby road as well. Didn't bother us, though. Stayed in site 106. Nicely wooded with some, but not much, privacy. Probably not a good spot if charging with solar panels. Restroom/shower houses appear to be we maintained. Sites have water, electric & sewer hookups. Sites are also suitable for tent camping. Can't say anything about the staff since I did not interact with them much. Long walk to the edge of the gulf; not much of a beach near the campground entrance, but nice beaches, with places to park, a short drive east & west of the park. Good AT&T & T-mobile data service. No Wifi.

      Flint Creek Waterpark

      Beautiful lake view

Second time at Flint Creek in Wiggins Mississippi. Stayed during the middle of January of 2021 on site 29.

The back of the site backs up to the lake, with plenty of beach to fish or hangout. This site would be perfect during the summer if you wanted to swim. The site had full hookups with 50amp connection. Plenty of space between sites. Also there are several shower/restrooms located throughout the Seneca Campground.

Only thing negative about the site was that it was not level. I had to add an extra step to get in and out of my travel trailer.

      Will definitely go back.

      Lake LaCroix RV Resort

      Unexpected paradise in the Bay

My daughter and I stayed for a little girls weekend getaway before she starts college. Never heard of this place but decided to give it a try. We were pleasantly surprised with the park. The lake water is crystal clear with plenty of fish. Very peaceful here! We spent time at the natural playground, swimming in the beautiful pool, fishing and bicycling. The pool area is very nice with outdoor furniture, fire pits and loungers. Close location to the boat launch for easy access to the Jourdan River. Verizon cell service was very strong. The parks WiFi works great as well.

    Guide to Pass Christian

Situated along Mississippi's Gulf Coast about 13 miles west of Gulfport, Pass Christian offers glamping sites within reach of both coastal and riverfront environments. The area maintains a subtropical climate with average summer temperatures of 90°F and winter lows rarely dropping below 40°F. Access to waterways including the Wolf River and nearby Gulf beaches creates opportunities for both freshwater and saltwater recreation during glamping stays.

    What to do

Fishing along the Jourdan River: McLeod Park Campground offers riverfront sites where anglers can fish directly from their campsite. "We walked the nature trail and enjoyed the river views from our campsite," shares one camper at McLeod Park Campground.

Kayaking on local waterways: Several glamping locations in Pass Christian provide water access for paddling adventures. "There is a cut field for dogs to run however it is only fenced on 3 sides. Location is in walking distance to the Boomtown Casino," notes a visitor at Boomtown Casino RV Park, which offers boat-in access options.

Biking through wooded areas: The natural setting around many glamping sites provides good cycling terrain. "Great spot of swimming and biking. Private spots and great shade," remarks a visitor to Flint Creek Waterpark, which offers multiple activity options.

    What campers like

Spacious, private sites: Many glamping accommodations near Pass Christian offer good separation between sites. "The sites are very spaced out and well maintained. The staff was friendly and very pleasant," reports a visitor to Wolf River Resort.

Waterfront proximity: Glamping sites with water views rank highly among visitor preferences. "Clean and nature at his best, peace full family oriented. Waterfront with swimming and canoeing! Concession area and multiple clean showers and bathrooms," notes a camper at Sugar Sands Campground.

Year-round accessibility: The mild Gulf Coast climate allows for comfortable glamping across seasons. "We enjoyed our mid October stay. Great playground and splash pad for the children," shares a visitor to McLeod Park, highlighting off-season appeal.

    What you should know

Site unevenness challenges: Some glamping sites require leveling equipment. "The only issue I had with the spots were they were all uneven, but somehow I was able to level my 37' travel trailer on the first try without any leveling aids," notes a visitor to Flint Creek Waterpark.

Varying cellular service: Connectivity can be inconsistent across glamping locations. "Cell service: Verizon service with 2 bars and AT&T one bar sometimes none. We were able to stream the LSU Tigers beat Arkansas on our Verizon hot spot," reports a McLeod Park camper.

Cleanliness variations: Bathroom and shower facilities quality varies significantly between glamping sites. "Went to see the shower and it was smelly and dirty as heck. It was enough for me to leave after an hour of visit," warns a visitor to All You Need Institute, suggesting checking facilities upon arrival.

    Tips for camping with families

Look for splash pads and playgrounds: McLeod Park offers water features specifically for children. "We spent most of our time at the playground! It's really not that bad of a park," shares one family camper, noting the amenities kept children entertained.

Watch for insects during summer: Bug activity increases during warmer months near glamping sites. "The roaches THE ROACHES WERE HORRIBLE. Especially at night as soon as you'd open up the door they were flying EVERYWHERE, we camped in August," warns a McLeod Park visitor, suggesting bug prevention measures.

Schedule around weekend crowds: Some glamping areas become busier and noisier on weekends. "We didn't really like the drinking and people riding on their boats blaring obnoxious music, but that's just our personal preference and only happened during the weekend," notes a family staying at McLeod Park.

    Tips from RVers

Reserve well in advance: Popular glamping sites fill quickly, especially during peak seasons. "Now that they do online cannot get available spots. No update if spot comes available. Great camping spot but to get in almost impossible now," advises a McLeod Park RVer about reservation challenges.

Check site dimensions: Many glamping areas have varying site sizes. "This campground was a little run down, but still provided a nice getaway. We stayed in a fifth wheel camper. We spotted a raccoon in the tree at our site," shares a visitor to Wolf River Resort.

Verify pet policies: Rules regarding pets vary between glamping locations. "When i said we had nowhere to go, they were willing to let us stay one night so we could find other accommodations for the next few days," shares one RVer at Keesler AFB FamCamp who encountered unexpected pet restrictions.
