The Best Camping Near Beltsville, Maryland

Our only complaint would be the size of the spots. We were quite close to our neighbors. There is plenty of space for our dogs to enjoy. We had family join us there and they rented a cabin. Cabins are nice. The pools were both nice and clean. The restaurant in the park was yummy and so convenient. The bathroom and showers were clean. There were improvements in progress, I'm sure it is just getting better!

OUR MEMORIAL WEEKEND

This campground is byfar one of the best I have ever stayed at.  The price is a little steep,  but with all the amenities you get, it is well worth it.  We had a premium site for seven nights.  The site was perfectly level with a fire ring, grill, picnic table and table with three chairs.  I wish there was a little bit more room in between the campers for privacy but it did not hurt our stay.  This campground is very close to DC and you are able to ride the metro bus right from the campground.  Overall, we had an unforgettable stay at Cherry Hill Park!

Awesome Campground!!!

There are some nice tenting sites under the trees and off by themselves for the true campers, and for the rest of us glampers there are hookups and lots to do. The park is close to Washington DC and offers a conceirge service for tours and things to do. On site are pools, splash pad, rv supplies and repair parts, a snack bar and lots more. Look at the park map and try to get a site at the end of a row. The sites are pretty close together but on the ends at least you only have a neighbor on one side. The landscaping, trees and site placement does help the esthetics.

Glamping or camping

This is a campers dream site.  Everything you can think of is offered here.  You have to check their website to see all.  This is the closest site to Washington DC.  Great location with access to all forms of transportation.  Store fully stocked to include groceries.   Two pools. Hot tub.   Play areas to include a game room and miniature golf.  Pets are pampered here.  Even dog walking service available.

Tight spots but very big and clean park. Great for camping if u want to go into Washington DC. 

Clean

We are staying here now and enjoying our time. It’s true glamping with yurts, cabins, multiple pools, a hot tub and mini golf. We are staying in the cabin sides and enjoying it. 

Love it so far 

Very clean campground with plenty to do on site such as pools, mini golf, and playground. Camp store was well stocked and the staff was friendly and helpful.  Can purchase metro cards at the campground and take a bus from the campground to the metro station that will drop you right at the National Archives (or anywhere else on the line).  Would highly recommend this campground, especially if your going to visit Washington.

Metrorail is about 6 miles from campground, near University of Maryland. 

Close to DC

My husband loves to go DC and we recently purchased a travel trailer. This campground was the best of both worlds. It was close to a metro stop, so we were able to hope on there and head into DC. Since we stayed in October and temperatures were getting cooler, we only played putt-putt and it was very well kept and the tiny cost ($1.00) to play goes to a great cause. The shower houses were clean and the other facilities were in great condition, with what we saw when we walked around. We had an enjoyable stay and would consider coming back when it’s a bit warmer and when we have more time to experience more at the campground itself. 

Access to DC

The best park in the DC area!  Very nice grounds, clean, and amenities galore!  The staff are nice here.  They have so much going on!  Plan and reserve you DC tours right at the campground.  No need to drive anywhere, the tour buses pick you up at the park!  Pool, playgrounds, game room, camp store, pavilions, everything!

Stay here to explore DC!

Had a great experience visiting our daughter over labor day weekend. Everything was extremely clean and well maintained. We loved the brick patio with patio furniture. Close to plenty of attractions.

A small issue with assignment of a spot. Other than that this is a fantastic place to camp in the city. Great amenities, wonderful staff (shout out to George). I'll be coming back. 

First time solo camping

A small piece of outdoors in the middle of a very bustling city is a great getaway close to home! a melting pot of meeting new people from all over the country visiting the DC area. And easy access to some of the nations best attractions￼

Peace and quiet amongst the busy  city

Great camping amenities, soft cushioned sites, with power and water close by. DO NOT GET BASIC TENT SITES AS THEY ARE NEXT TO HIGHWAYS AND VERY NOISY!!! Premium tent sites would be a better choice.  My grandchildren live it there. We will return to a premium tent site soon.

Surprisingly nice campground in a city. Lots of things for kids to do and access to bike trails outside of the complex.

Cherry Hill Park was easy to find and get to basically right off I-95. This was our first time RVing into the WA DC area and we were concerned about traffic getting to the campground(CG). As we arrived, traffic was heavy on I-95 but manageable. Cherry Hill’s and our RV GPS directions were spot on getting us to the park. We were very impressed with this CG from the moment we entered. We picked up our package outside the office(no contact check-in) and went to premium site 93 with FHUs. Back-in was easy. The wifi was very good but the CG was only about a 1/4 full. Cherry Hill has many different ways to stay; cottages, cabins, yurts, glamping pods, premium and regular tent sites in addition to the RV sites. As we looked around we found that all of the sites, regardless of amenities, were spaced about the same. There are a few sites in the CG on the end that will give you a little more yard space like 97(need to be a competent backer), 402, and 1723. We got 2 bars each on Verizon and AT&amp;T. The CG’s cable provided a large selection of channels and worked well. We were impressed with the main laundry facility due to the amount of large washers and dryers, very fair pricing and very clean. The two off leash dog parks(in the same area) were nice plus there’s a well maintained walking trail that goes around this very large CG’s perimeter. We really liked how there are trash receptacles and dog poopy bag dispensers nicely placed all over the CG. Though we didn’t use it, they even have a dog walker service so you can spend a lot of time exploring the DC area without worrying about your pups. About the only draw back was the road noise from the interstate and highway pretty much 24/7, but considering the area that is to be expected. Sites 13-38 and 1500 sites near the premium tent area are the farthest away from the road noise. We would definitely stay here again.

Impressive Campground

I love this campground. It’s big, yet spread out, sites are really well kept and level (gravel). Many are shaded with trees, beautiful pool, laundry, showers, super kind store workers. Gated entry with live person working to greet you. Shuttle bus to take you to metro. We will be back!

This place is awesome!

We tent camped there two years ago,  at one of their premium sights ( totally worth the extra $) I grew up camping and had never been at a campground that was this clean. I mean the bathrooms were pristine at all times. ( I actually felt bad when a moth flew in with me the one night because there weren't any bugs in there, EVER). They have 2 pools, a hot tub, $1.00 putt putt ( great coarse, with all proceeds going to a childrens hospital) splash pad, laundry,  game room, cafe, playgrounds....It is located fairly close to DC and the zoo. The only downside, is that it's near highways, so at times, you can hear traffic and you are forced to buy firewood from the campground and it could get pricey because there arent any local sellers like most places We had an amazing, relaxing stay and I would highly recommend staying there if you're visiting DC or just passing through.

We stayed for a week at Cherry Hill. It’s clean, quiet (unless you back up to 95 then you can hear traffic at tonight). Easy access to the metro to visit DC. Beautiful hiking in the area.

Fantastic Suburban Park with Great Sites and Ammenities 

We just started full time RVing during the “off season”. This is a camp we chose that met our needs. The women in the main office were amazingly helpful, and very friendly! 
It was very well maintained, clean, and quiet. 
During the on season it may be a bit louder but there is still rules about noise so you’ll be fine! 
There are TONS of things for families to do including mini golf a splash park, 2 playgrounds and a basketball court. There is also Corn hole and ping pong and a laundry center. 
My son has Autism and I still shower him and the family restroom/shower is just so wonderful!!
We will definitely be returning during the on season to try out the water play park! 
I very much recommend this park, we are new to this, but they made me feel very comfortable and safe!

Plenty of variety to the camp lots. Plenty of stuff for the kids to do. Easy to get to off of 95.



Nice big campground 

This CG is an awesome 5+++++ place, close to DC and Arlington NVA.  The resort is impeccably clean, the entire staff is friendly and knowledgeable.  Amenities are great, from multiple pools with lifeguards, to showers, laundry rooms, playgrounds, pet areas, even tire stations for your rigs.  They even have two full time staff to assist in your plans to and from DC.  We drove to most attractions downtown within 35 min.  Arlington is approx. 40 min drive and an hour to Quantico.  We highly recommend this CG.  Sites are beautiful and clean.  Great hook ups, with 70+ channels of cable.  WiFi needed a browser.  Multiple clubhouses, even a restaurant that delivers to your site.  The store is awesome and close to food stores, gas, medical center and shopping

Proof 100+ Years, They Get It Right!

Cherry Hill Park may be the greatest campground we’ve stayed at yet! 

  

Located less than 3-miles from I-95, about 40-minutes drive time from downtown Washington, DC, and about 35-minutes from Baltimore’s Inner Harbor, this park is ideally situated for a capitol vacation. We spent 9-days in mid-July and it really wasn’t enough. 

  

The staff and the array of services available is awesome. They offer concierge assistance with sightseeing tours and mass transit(Metro). They run an express bus to/from DC each weekday which is reasonably priced. Their day and night tours are informative and fun. 

  

The cafe offers snacks and ice cream at the cafe, at the pool, or delivered to your site. 

  

The camp store was well-stocked with food and drinks, souvenirs, and basic supplies. 

  

They charge your purchases to your site(cafe, tours, store) which is smart and convenient. 

  

The pools are clean and offer a nice cooldown after a day about DC. 

  

For those without RVs, there are cabins and cottages to rent. There are indoor and outdoor reception facilities. For a few hours a day a few days each week, they offer a tram around the park. Nightly tractor rides are fun and there’s mini golf, ponds, and walking trails. The list goes on and on. 

  

Our site (#1715) was level and the full hookups all worked fine. Beside our gravel site, there was a small brick patio with cafe table and chairs in addition to the picnic table, fire ring, and grill. 

  

Everywhere I looked, I saw staff working on cleaning and maintenance— and all this work shows. The place isn’t fancy, but really well maintained and clean. 

  

This is a great place and we can’t wait to go back!

Washington DC Vacation

We loved camping here. Beautiful resort style campground with great amenities. The place is clean and well run. Every campsite has a patio, grill, and fire pit. Great pool, clubhouse, entertainment for the kids, great laundry facilities, and huge off leash dog area for the dogs. This was an awesome home base to explore DC and is only a few miles from the metro station. We can’t wait to come back!

Great Place

Cherry Hill Park is a top-performer campground offering an excellent pool for the children, very neat campgrounds and landscape. Shower areas are nice and clean. The campsite offers great information to explore Washington DC area. Definitely worth a return visit next time we are in the area.

Great staff and pleasantly surprised with the campground. We were worried about the road noise but where we were was fine. Picnic tables and fire pits, full hook-ups and plenty of trees 

Nice campground near DC

I didn’t find anything I didn’t like at this campground. That being said, I’m sure there were a few campers who didn’t like being right next to the walkway to the bathrooms and showers. The park is broken down in to various sections and slightly tiered. Lots of activities for the kids, shuttle was also available. Plenty of dog walking areas with grass.

It was crowded when we checked in but the registration office was very efficient in getting people through the system quickly. All necessary info was supplied, key codes swipe card, wifi password, parking pass, etc. The park is very large and is situated in a very congested area right off the freeway but was surprisingly quiet and the access was easy peasy.

Wifi, cable and cell service were all good.

Bathrooms, showers and laundry facility were all in excellent condition and clean. Paths to the bathrooms were lit as you got closer to them. We had a back-in gravel site, level, with plenty of room between campers to maneuver into our site. Spaces are easily identifiable and they had people clearing out the leaves before campers arrived. However, there is not a great deal of space between campers

They have an attendant during the day  operating the gate but after hours we used a bar code on a piece of paper that we scanned to open the gate. We spent 5 nights here and we could have easily stayed longer. We will definitely book again.

Excellent Campground and base for seeing DC

This place had everything you would need an more at a campsite. Full hookup, huge gated property, relatively close to D.C., pool, hot tub and sauna! They also offer shuttles services to D.C. We drove 10 min to the college park train station, parked for free, and hopped on the metro to get to D.C. Wish we stayed longer!

Great Site Near DC

This place is as competitively priced as anyone of the RV parks around. They have it all in a park is beautiful. ￼ the pool is great. The showers are clean. The laundry is great. They have playgrounds. Everyone is nice. Most of the spots are level. The grounds are well cab. The campground Wi-Fi is decent. They have extra amenities that you do not get at most parks this is a true gem of a place to stay in the DC area ￼

Awesome place and competitively priced 

We had another great stay at Cherry Hill Park in College Park, MD. 

  

We stayed in a level pull-thru site(#1715) with picnic table on a paver patio, iron table and chairs, clean gravel surface, grill, and fire pit. The site was just big enough for our motor home and Jeep. Full hook-ups with 50-amp service all worked fine. 

  

If you’re visiting Washington, this is the place to stay. They offer a daily charter bus plus the Metro bus stops at the campground entrance. And if you have a car, it’s about 35-minutes drive time(maybe a bit longer with traffic). 

  

To be honest, it’s a great place to stay even if you’re not visiting D.C. They have two swimming pools, a cafe, playgrounds, well-stocked camp store, delivery of firewood, ice, and cafe orders, and a concierge to help with travel and tourist sites. 

  

The entire park is clean and well-maintained.

Perfect experience

We just stayed one night as we were passing through the area, but we were very impressed by this park. It is huge, but so pretty and clean. There’s multiple bath houses, playgrounds and even pools. There is also a mini golf course and splash park. We were there in the winter, so some things were closed for the season. 

The gift shop has just about everything you could possibly want or need. We were able to get souvenirs and also some necessities for our RV. 

The bus spots right at the entrance to the park, which is super helpful for getting to downtown DC for sightseeing. 

We are already planning our next visit to this park and can’t wait!

Beautiful park! 

You can't beat this campground for a DC visit. DC hotels are pricey, so getting to the Mall to visit the (mostly free!) museums and monuments is the biggest challenge if you stay outside the city. Cherry Hill Park in Beltsville, MD is a great option. In season, their buses run, but even off season a Metro Bus has a stop right at the campground. We opted to make the very short drive to the College Park Metro (subway/train) and park in the garage. It was only about $5 to park for the day. If you've not been to DC, the Metro trains are among the best in the US. If you get the unlimited pass and put it on your iPhone, it's super easy to get around. 

The campground is well run. The bathrooms/showers are very clean and modern. The grounds are well maintained. The sites are all nice and level, but rather close, as expected given the proximity to DC. The staff is helpful and friendly. Security is excellent. We dined at Mamma Lucia just down the street the first night and we all had very good meals. There's a large grocery store in the same shopping center, and IKEA is also very close. 

The only con is the road noise. It's close to 95 and the trucks are loud in the night. We got used to it after the first night. If it had been summer, we would have left the fan on, but as it was November, that wasn't an option. Even so, it was a minor issue and it wouldn't stop us from staying again. 

Bottom line, for a DC RV trip, it doesn't get any better than Cherry Hill Park. We had a very nice visit at Cherry Hill Park, and it was wonderful visiting all the great DC sites again. Fall and Winter are excellent times to visit to avoid the crowds.

Great location!

The Campground is located conveniently at the corner of I95 and the Washington DC Beltway I495. It is an especially good Campground to stay at if you are planning on visiting Washington DC. Personally, I would say that is a good Campground for Overnight or a Trip to DC. There is a generally good sense of community, which is lucky because of how close together the sites are. There is a Bus Stop right by the Entrance to the Campground that will get you into Washington DC if you don’t feel like driving. The Camp store is very well stocked with camping stuff, food, and beer. There is also plenty to do for the kids, like Tractor Ride through the Campground. We visited Cherry Hill Park Campground in a Class A Motorhome and while it was tight, we fit no problem.

Great Campground close to DC

We stayed a week at Cherry Hill and it had everything we needed for visiting DC. Staff very helpful and really explained the Metro system very well. We didn't drive to DC at all - just used public transit We also did 2 tours with Cherry Hill, which were good overviews of the featured sites. Nicely stocked store, great cafe onsite, and clean bathrooms and showers were great features. Swimming pools pretty crowded so we didn't use. Still, very happy with site, partial shade too. Would return to Cherry Hill.
