We spent New Year's Eve 2024/2025 at Grand Isle State Park. Our spot (pretty much all of the spots) was a five minute walk from the beach. You cannot actually see the Gulf from the campsites because of a levee. Even on December 31, though, there were swarms of mosquitos, the only reason why Grand Isle gets 4 stars instead of 5.

Park staff was friendly and helpful. The roads were good. The electricity and water worked just fine.
