I may rent it out in the future and I will have a cabin available later in the year We are on a solar powered, off the grid 60 acre homestead that has 54 acres of wooded land and 6 acres of groomed land. Come explore our land and relax in the"Tree Web", see the 2 story tree house that I live in, have fun on the tire swing, or just sit and enjoy all that nature has to offer. You can explore our interesting topography that has close to 100 foot of elevation changes, our(mostly) dry creek system that starts with 2 springs that drain into 3 sinkholes or walk 3 miles of trails (if you follow each trail from end to end). Camping can be in the Black Walnut Grove, in an open field or a shady grove. We like to interact with people or you can keep to yourself and have a quiet getaway in the woods. We love groups- Host your event here or have a group gathering with all your friends and family. We have spaces large enough to host hundreds of people. \\- 3.5 miles to Marengo Cave \\- 7 miles to the Blue River(canoes, rafting and swimming) \\- 30 minutes to Pataka Lake- 37 miles west of Louisville \\- 13 miles north of Interstate 64

The Best Camping Near English, Indiana

The drive to this property is very easy and we had no trouble finding it. However, there is not a sign for the campground, so just follow your gps. Once you drive down the one lane gravel drive you will see a small building with a colorful knight. Now you know you are on the right track! There is some open camping immediately on the right, but keep driving until you see the big metal building. Turn right on the road and drive around and you will see camp sites and eventually Kerry’s tree house. We stopped to say hi and he directed us to our campsite. The weekend we were there was during the Summer Soulstice music festival. The campground was very lively and everyone was having fun. There was live music and good food. The tree web is a giant net about 15 feet in the air. My boys loved climbing up and laying in the web. The tire swing was also fun for the kids. The site we stayed at did not have electricity or water but a water source was close by. The bathroom and shower was very nice and the composting toilet was clean. Kerry took us on a kubota for a tour of the property. We saw a beautiful creek with waterfall, bee hives and sinkholes. Kerry had interesting stories to tell about the property. There was a giant bonfire lit on Saturday night and the music went all night, which was so much fun! I would imagine on all other weekends, it would be pretty quiet. There is no cell service but it was so nice to “unplug” and enjoy talking with each other and making new friends.

This place is run by Kerry on hipcamp. He is very kind and welcoming to all. He has firewood for purchase and will set up your fire for free with his propane torch, which was very helpful for us after a rainstorm. The forest is beautiful and we had no problems with ticks or mosquitoes while sleeping in our hammocks. The whole place felt safe and perfect for relaxation in the woods.

Really nice and quiet 

We stayed over the Memorial Day holiday with our kid and another couple. We were all impressed with the land and how spaced out the camp sites were. The kids loved the tire swing and tree web. We will definitely be coming back!
