Cabela's Post Falls, ID

SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Free overnight parking at the Cabela's retail store in Post Falls makes this a functional one-night stop for RVers and road trippers moving through northern Idaho. The lot is large enough to accommodate rigs of any size, and the pavement is well-maintained. Lighting is semi-lit after hours, and multiple reviewers note that seeing other RVs and campers in the lot adds a sense of security.

Facilities are straightforward. Restrooms are available inside the store during business hours, and the camp store gives campers access to outdoor gear and supplies. Cell service is reliable. The lot includes some trees and grass around its edges, and a nearby park works well for walking dogs. Walmart - Post Falls and a Dutch Bros coffee shop are close by for resupply or a morning coffee run.

One reviewer described it as "a safe place to park for the night," and that captures the general experience accurately. Check in with store staff before settling in. According to one camper, staff confirmed that overnight parking is permitted for up to 48 hours, with the ask being to park away from the building entrance. The lot quiets down once the store closes for the evening.

Campers passing through the region can also find camping near Newman Lake if a more natural setting fits the itinerary. For this stop, arriving before the store closes lets you confirm the overnight policy directly with staff and use the indoor restrooms before settling in.

Safe stay

We came in just before sunset. There were multiple other rvs and campers, which added a feeling of safety. Dutch Bros and Walmart just down the street was a major bonus. Thanks Cabela’s!

Great overnight parking

We were comfortable sleeping overnight in the caballas parking lot. They’re were campers/ RVs as well as other cars in the lot. We spoke to a lady who told us that overnight parking was fine and they allowed up to 48hrs to stay just to park away from the building. We were able to set up and sleep without interruptions.
