Quiet and private

It was our first camping trip of the season, and it couldn’t have been at a better spot. The camp sites are clean, private, and great for tent campers. Not far from some gorgeous spots (we had a great time hiking Brass Bald in particular). The staff was really friendly and the facilities were clean.

Lake Winfield Scott Recreation Area

Beautiful park. It would have received 5 stars if it had a dump station and wifi (since there is no cell phone service at this park). There is a nice cabin there that rents for $95 per night. It has a wood stove, has no air conditioning, and sleeps 10. The hosts are excellent and the park is very clean.

Neverland

Gorgeous sites, not one of them was a bad spot. We stayed on site 10 near the bathrooms (we have a 5 month old) our site had an elevated pad for the tent which was great. We brought our dog with us as well. Super lush so very shaded all around with spots of sunlight. It was quiet and peaceful in the evening. Will absolutely be back

Nice quiet park

This park is pretty remote - we couldn't even get cell service from our campsite. The sites are spaced out but small and right across from each other. We had 30/50 amp and water hookup (but were tent camping this time so jot sure if there was a dump station). The facilities were clean but a little beat up. There is a small non-motorized boat lake with a designated beach area. It was very quiet and we had a great weekend and definitely would go again and bring out kayaks/SUPs.

Managed by cradle of forestry

This is a nice sprawling campground sort of hidden away in the north Georgia mountains. The lake is great for swimming and there is plenty of shade and greenery. It has a trail that connects to the AT so you may meet some hikers bound for Maine or may want to make it a stop on a longer AT hike. Good showers and bath houses

Lake Winfield Scott

We've been camping here for years with our kids. It's gorgeous during the fall season & the trails connect to the Appalachian trail. It's pet friendly and usually pretty quiet, despite filling up pretty quickly in fall months. Close to several other great parks, such as Vogel state park, unicoi state park, and Brasstown Bald. Also convenient for a day trip to Helen or to several local waterfalls. Recommend heading into Blairsville for breakfast at The Hole in The Wall Restaurant, yummy! Facilities are always clean, but FYI if there too early in spring the bathrooms will be locked up & only option becomes an outhouse.
