Nice campground but needs a few things
First, the positives:
1. This is a small campground, which we like
2. As we were there in early May, it was not crowded. In fact, after Sunday morning when everyone from the weekend left it was only about 1/3 full
3. Ice is available on site for $2 per bag and firewood is available for $5 per bag
4. The entire campground is very wooded, so it is very shady and cool
5. There is a trail leading directly from the campground to the gorge and state park, which is very convenient.
The negatives:
1. You are never out of earshot of traffic in the campground. The traffic noise does die down at night, but you can hear semi truck engine brakes at all hours. We did not find the noise bothersome though.
2. While the comfort station near the entrance to the campground was clean and well stocked, there was no place to put your belongings while taking a shower (no benches in the outer cubicle and only one hook, and no place to put shampoo, conditioner or soap in the shower).
Overall this is a very nice campground, and we would definitely stay there again.
