This campground had it all

The campground was perfectly designed by someone who knows what campers want. Each site was separated from the neighbor by high brush and trees to make it seem really private. A river on the backside and the Atlantic Ocean on the front of the resort. Restaurants all around. They have a pool, bathrooms are decent and laundry was ok. Overall great place Just under $90 a night

Nice campground with beach access

Very nice privately-run campground. The sites are somewhat close together but with palm and tree vegetation between them for privacy. the bathhouse is clean and has lots of laundry machines (bring quarters or front desk had some). The campground has river access to the back and then is just across the road from a great beach. There are no signs prohibiting dogs on the beach and our pup loved running around on the beach - almost no one there on a rainy / cloudy day. We stayed in site 23 which was fine but a bit tight. It was early Feb 2021 and it rained a lot when we were there and it was good to know the bath house could be a shelter if the tornado watch developed further. Luckily it didn’t. Nice place. I’d return here for longer with hopefully better weather. I like that you can walk to nature so conveniently from the campground.

Private and friendly

This is a wonderful place 5 minutes from Old Town in St Augustine. Love how it is set in between the ICW and the ocean. The sites are good sized and private. They have foliage in between every site that makes you feel like you could be out here all alone. Staff and other campers are all very friendly. If you get hungry for a great seafood dinner you can walk down to Aunt Katie’s on the river. We had an absolutely wonderful dinner there. Only negative, which didn’t affect us was the bath houses are on the older side and need to be remodeled.

Best beach campground

We stayed the week of Thanksgiving and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The campground is just lovely! Most RV sites are extremely private with plenty of vegetation between them. Our site (118) is a very deep, wide back-in. The river access is fantastic and the ocean is an easy walk across A1A. The beach is about to become inaccessible in a day or two due to a massive rejuvenation project that goes on day and night, crawling its way up the coast. Can’t wait to see the finished product when we come visit again someday!

No WiFi and phone reception as advertised

The location is very nice but there is no reliable WiFi (even in the office) nor phone reception despite that’s how it’s advertised. My reason for selecting this campsite was that I needed to work remotely that week and it was advertised as WiFi and phone reception.

Bathrooms are very old and feel dirty. Thinking for $100 a day, they should invest in some remodeling. The only trash bins are at the entry of the camp so you need to carry out your trash quite a long way.

Great Spot

This campground was pretty great. Beach to the East and river to the west of the property. We loved the private beach area which kept the crowds to a minimum, compared to the public areas. My partner and I tent camped there during 4th of July weekend. Mornings/evenings were cool but mid afternoon was HOT however, the trees provided some cover. The only major con was the state of which the bathrooms were kept. Although they were air conditioned they are a bit rundown. Cleanliness could use some improvement but I’m sure most of it had to do with the crowdedness during that weekend. Not sure if it is better kept during normal times. Pets are allowed but with breed restrictions. They are allowed in all areas of the campground except the store, bathrooms, and pool.

Great Beach Front Campground

This was our first beach campground we visited since we usually camp in the fall. We stayed in number 18 and we were very close to the bathroom area (which has AC) and close to the Pool. Love the privacy of the campgrounds although the campgrounds in the smaller loops felt too close to each other. This campground is in an excellent location. Across from the campground is the St. Agustine Beach and you have inside the campground direct access to the River area.  There is a pool but for the size of the campground is a bit small but is open until 9pm.  Most people moved around in golf cart and they even have parking space for a small boat on certain campsites. The staff is great and helpful. It is about 10 min drive from old St. Agustine were there are many things to do an restaurants. There is a boat ramp on the street next to the campground and there are two restaurants within walking distance of the campground. Great place for a summer gateway.

Never Bored - River, ocean, privacy

This campground meets all the requirements for a tropical camping vacation with plenty of room to explore. Private palmetto and tree lined sites offer plenty of shade. Golf cart recommended as this campground as it sprawls from one of side of the island to the other, offering riverfront beach and Atlantic white sand beaches with private parking. Cruising the trails that wind through the grounds on your cart will be one of your favorite past times. 2 streets down, you’ll find a castle. The facilities were cleaned in the morning - full of sand by evening. Shower and toilet stalls were always available. Great experience!

Great place

We stayed 7 days in July...very Hot. Weather report at 3pm said “feels like” 108f! Campsite was great, shaded with full hook ups. 2 good restaurants on the inter coastal side, fished and crab hunted at night. Another restaurant on the beach side was just ok. Great location to hit Downtown St Augustine. I recommend a Fishing Charter out of Comachee Cove marina just over the bridge...it was great. Also drive down to Matanzas inlet...walk along the path besides the bridge and spend the day fishing the inlet and snorkeling. Tons of sea turtles, birds, beautiful scenery and history. :) ....also check out Kyle’s seafood market. Excellent little place with great pre made dips and chowders and fresh seafood.

Located close to beach access and history

North Beach Camp Resort is located on Vilano Beach approximately 20 minutes from historic St. Augustine. We stayed for 3 nights in January. Reservations were not available online at the time we booked, we had to contact the resort via phone and they had advised us only 1 space was available and was 50amp with water. The fee was $82 each night before the AAA discount. We’re a married couple in our forties traveling with two dogs and a cat in our 37 foot motorhome with slideouts on both sides. This campground is pet friendly and we were allowed to take our dogs to the beach with us. The site had trees with tall bushes on both sides providing adequate privacy from other resort guests. The water faucet had a significant leak and sprayed water throughout the stay. We opted to not call for maintenance as the workers servicing another site nearby were smoking cigarettes and we have allergies. A map publication is provided at checkin and the staff provided good directions to the site. All roads throughout the park are compacted sand, we had good traction throughout in both our Class A and MINI Cooper. The signs directing traffic throughout the resort are dark and may be difficult to see at night or by people with poor eyesight. The main building seems to have been built in the 1970’s. It is old, very worn and in disrepair with visible ceiling stains from leaks. The laundry facilities and restrooms vary in age from the 70’s to more recent and most are clean but in need of repair and updates. We opted not to utilize it because they were over used and dirty in appearance. The staff kept the grounds clean of debris and trash, there are multiple receptacles for doggy waste collection. The noise levels were relatively low from the highway. You can hear the waves from the beach at night. However there is significant noise from the Northeast Florida Regional Airport. We were able to hear private jets flying over every 5 minutes all day. The beach access is what brought us to this campground. To get to the ocean you must cross over A1A with traffic speeding up to 50mph. There are no crosswalks or caution signs alerting traffic to pedestrians. There is a restaurant nearby we did not visit as most of our time was at the restaurants in St. Augustine. The Tolomato river provides beautiful views of the sunset. This is a popular evening activity, plan to arrive early to secure your favorite spot.

Best of Both worlds

Back side of campground is on the Bay. The front is across the street from the ocean. There is a fishing pier for campground guests. Most sites are very private and wooded. Came during Covid 19 so place was empty, couldnt go on beach. The beach from what we saw looked nice! Will come back again.

Beautiful beach on the Atlantic Ocean, beautiful sunsets along the inter coastal. Full hook ups, cable, most sites private and separated by vegetation also providing shade in the summer. Friendly staff, clean campground, pool, store ect. No complaints. My families favorite campground. My young girls never get bored. Minutes from historic downtown st Augustine also.

Perfect getaway

I adore this camping area. You get the river on one side and the ocean on the other! The campsites are spacious with good coverage, the bathrooms/wash (showers and washer/dryer) are close and there are community fire pits which are great for meeting your neighbors and being social. The fishing is great in the river and in the ocean. you are not far from town either if you need anything or just want to go grab a bite/drink. The beach scene is awesome also:) I highly recommend this place!!

Unique

We've stayed here twice and would certainly go back again! The fact that the property is so heavily wooded allows private seclusion in the individual spots as well as noise reduction. We used the pool and eat dinner at the restaurant that is walking distance across the road. The staff is friendly. The park is walking distance to a fishing pier as well as the beach.
