Reservations will be automatically refunded for closures related to tropical weather.

Description

Etoniah Creek State Forest contains 8,879 acres of various natural communities. The forest was acquired as part of the Etoniah/Cross Florida Greenway Conservation and Recreation Lands (CARL) project. Etoniah Creek State Forest is named after Etoniah Creek, a stream that travels 2.5 miles through the eastern portion of the forest.

Use of this site requires the visitor to hike in 1.7 miles from the closest trailhead. There is no vehicle access to this site. This is a walk up only site.
No potable water or electric at this site.
This forest allows hunting at various times throughout the year. Please check hunting dates before planning your visit. Please wear blaze orange during hunting seasons.
Prescribed burns are conducted on the forest throughout the year.

**From SR 19 in Palatka** - Drive 12 miles west on SR 100 to Holloway Road. Turn right. Continue 2.5 miles north on Holloway Road to Fieldhouse Road (look for forest headquarters sign). Turn right. Park at the Florida Trail kiosk. Hike north and east along the Florida Trail for 1.7 miles. The multi-use trailhead with picnic tables and restrooms is 0.2 miles up the road. **From Keystone Heights, FL** - Drive east on SR 100 to Holloway Road. Turn left (north) on Holloway Road. Continue 2.5 miles north on Holloway Road to Fieldhouse Road (look for forest headquarters sign). Turn right. Park at the Florida Trail kiosk. Hike north and east along the Florida Trail for 1.7 miles. The multi-use (Holloway Day Use Area) trailhead with picnic tables and restrooms is 0.2 miles up the road.
