This was fairly popular. Saw lots of folks biking, and there were mostly RVs. Even though the park was mostly full, it was fairly quiet in the evening. The bathrooms were clean and there was a gate code to get in.

This is primarily an RV campground. I’m a tent camper and felt like I was in an RV zoo. However, the facilities are very good with toilet/shower facilities. Electric and water at each site. Shady spacious sites. CG is patrolled by park rangers. Host has firewood for sale. Gate code required (comes with reservation). Best thing about this place is the surrounding area: lots of (walking only) trails but my favorite, the seemingly endless off roading sandy Jeep trails throughout this forest state park - lovely!

The area in front of the bathroom was a bit sandy, so be sure to bring flip flops so you don’t get the inside of your car all sandy!!

Holder Mine Campground, Withlacoochee State Forest is a small campground with mostly shaded sites, but little vegetation between campsites. A few of the sites have enough spacing to provide some elbow room. There are some nice hiking trails just to the west of the campground that can be enjoyed when the weather is cooler. The campground is gated and is opened using the gate code included in the reservation confirmation. The bathhouse is clean with hot showers.

Our favorite so far. These sites are beautiful! Concert pads and large grassy areas on each one Most had shade trees. Only 27 sites. The bathhouse was always clean. Ranger Arron was very nice and helpful! Alot of jeepers camp here. Lots of clay roads to ride on. We'll definitely go back!

Overall, very nice. Each site is well kept with water & electric. Sites include a cement slab for parking, picnic table and fire pit. Warning!!!! Do not park any vehicle on the grass (not even part of your tire!) The campground host will ask you to move your vehicle / trailer and inform the park ranger. I had a nice morning visit a talking to with the park ranger for parking my overland tent trailer on the grass so I can utilize the awnings.

The environment was amazing. It was nice to relax and be able to camp. I am thankful It had a bathroom with showers and a firepit we can use. My only issue were the people doing the jeep trails. They would drive quickly on the roads in the campgrounds without care of children. Their lights were extremely bright. Other campers appeared to be disrespectful to other campers and were loud.

RV sites but they allow tent camping so you have electric and water hookups, showers, toilets, dog friendly, many hiking trails, and a 30-minute drive to the Crystal springs, dames caves, and manatee snorkeling!

Everyone there was super friendly. If you like off-roading, then you'll love their trails.

Here March 19, 2021.. Campground is nice and clean and very quiet. Road coming in is dirt and dusty but well maintained.

The only negative is the Park Ranger is pretty rude and has the personality of a wet mop and will scold you if you park in the grass at all....

The dump station is no longer in use so you have to use the bath house or dump elsewhere but don't question Ms. Personality on it....trust me!

All in all a great place to spend some time....

Small,quiet, and out of the way in the middle of the Withlacoochee State Forest. Only 27 sites with water and electric and a dump station on the way out. All sites have fire pit with grill, picnic table and level cement pad. We had a large beautiful oak on our site. Lots of hiking and hunting if you want it. Way out in the forest yet near to town. A campground for tents or RV. They have a clean, well maintained bathroom and recycling at the trash house. Fenced and gated (I assume to keep pets and people safe from the wildlife). Kinda sketchy cell service. I only wish we had more time here. A change of plans left only one night. And I was unable to get reservations to extend our stay for longer. So plan well ahead of time.

This was our last stop on our way north to Alabama. The road to the campground is hard packed gravel but we traveled slowly and had no issues. We had a reservation and went directly to our site. Each site has a spacious level concrete pad and plenty of shade trees. Clean and well maintained campground, including the restroom/shower with very hot water. Very quiet, but cold weather could have been a factor. Firewood available for a donation is a plus. Primarily used the campground as a staging area to visit other points of interest in the local area, such as Three Sisters Springs and Copp Winery/Brewery, so we did not use the trail system, but there is easy access to the trail. Plenty of places to shop and eat nearby. Cell service with ATT was adequate. We would stay here again.

Great spot to explore. We were really happy with the size of our site and the trail on the forest to explore. This is a popular spot for hunters as there were a lot of them in the primitive sites. We tried riding our bikes a ways but the roads are pretty sandy so it was tough in some spots. They have lots of trees for shade and you can even hang you hammock or slack line on them if you use flat rope. We went to swim with the manatees in Crystal River and explore the springs at Rainbow falls while we were here. About a 30 min drive to both.

The camping area is very small, and the folks running this section of the park tend to be very, very pedantic about the campers’ habits - e.g. you may be asked to park your vehicle at a certain angle or asked to keep quiet during daylight hours. The facilities are nicely kept, however and very clean.

We love to primitive camp and with our dogs. You can do both of these hear without a problem. The only thing is that the campsites we stayed at are not secluded enough for what I like. There is no real divider between campsites next to you or straight across. BUT for someone who likes ot be a little more secluded, I still did enjoy our time here. It forced us to mingle a bit and we met some lovely people. Our dogs barked a bit only because they saw other people and pets they wanted to say hey to. The people we met here showed us a great trail you can hike on that brings you to some awesome caves, yes in Florida, that you could explore in. So all in all it was a win for us!

Nice place. Showers are big. Bathrooms are clean. Sites are tidy.
