At the tent sites you are not allowed to have campfires which is kind of a bummer.  The sites are on a slight slope that goes down to the lake.  The sites are nice with a good view of the lake

Park is great but campsite is very cramped! Camping sites are small and very open, and not super great if you want to hammock camp!

Bill Federick is a nice close getaway in the middle of the city. Good for what it is however it is right next to the highway

Did primitive camping, no hammock space, no campfires, hot showers we're hot! Close enough to everything in Orlando .. I would def call for reservations b4 hand only 12 primitive spots..drone park, swimming pool, animal farm, camping right on lake..

This is a little oasis in the middle of Orlando. Great facilities, great location. You really won’t believe he quality of the campground.

if you choose primitive campground (10$) you will have to walk a little bit. the car parking is far away from the actual campsite. huge plus arw free showers with hot water. area is beautiful!

You can’t get more centrally located that bill Frederick. Located In metro west, this park is close to both the theme parks, and a commutable distance to north Orlando. The campground is at the back of the park up against the lake shore making it quieter than you would think for being so close to the expressway. The bathrooms and shower leave something to be desired. They could be cleaner and the shower drains tend to back up but everything works and is serviced daily. Only campground downside is there are no fire pits by each site. Open fire is only allowed at the grills, in another area of the park. 

A nice bike trail circles the whole park. RV’ers must use dump site to get rid of black and grey water. No sewer hookup. 

This park fills up when events like renaissance fair or dragon boat racing come through. 

This park offers every recreation in the book: boating, fishing, biking, hiking, frisbee golf, wildlife watching (petting farm), jungle gyms, horse boarding, grilling spots, swimming pool. There’s something here for everyone.

In the heart of Orlando and you don’t even know it

This campground in located central to major attractions in the Orlando area. The campground is very small and very quiet. It is attached to a park and they have a swimming pool, disk golf, horseback riding and cabins for rent. The price is ridiculously low at about $25/day.  

Inexpensive paradise

We stayed here a lot when we first moved to Florida and loved it. We stayed in the tent ⛺️ area because it was the most cost effective. What you should know about the tent area is that it is not drive up, you have to walk a short distance to your site.

One thing that we loved about the location is that it is close to all of the attractions. We actually walked home from Universal Studios to our campsite one night.

Some other things to know you can only stay for 14 days at a time and only 14 days in a month. This was an issue for us as we were working in the area and camping full time. This seemed to be the case with all of the county parks in the area, so we had to move every two weeks.

Apparently you can stay longer in the RV Park, but they wouldn’t let us with our roof top tent. They went as far as to say that it is illegal. We looked into it latter and found that not to be true. Apparently it is illegal in Orlando to camp in a tent within city limits. This does not apply to roof top tents though as they are not on the ground. They were a bit rude about the whole thing and after being lied to, it left a bad taste in our mouths.

Remember that the tent sites are not drive up? Yea, we couldn’t use our roof top tent there either, fortunately we carried a ground tent too.

Some other things to know, the tent sites are close to the highway/ turnpike so there is always traffic noise. Some weekends and during breaks it is a training ground for high school rowing teams (you are not allowed to use a canoe in the lake either, but somehow rowing is ok) and there are competitions. So it can be busy then and noisy in the morning when they are training and competing.

Don’t look too closely at the girls in their tight athletic outfits either. Our neighbor got tossed out for that and complaining about their littering (which was a legitimate complaint there were water bottles littered everywhere when they were there).

So those are the pros and cons. In spite of the negative stuff we would and have gone there again as it is a nice spot.

My wife has her purse stolen today in the park for one of the employers the park and officers dont gave the attention of the case need and the police dont do any report

Nice campground close to Orlando attractions. Beautiful lake with great walking/biking trails. Sites were a nice size with paved driveways, that could be a little wider. The grass was overgrown and muddy around our site. Pool was also closed during our visit. Would come back again.

Bill Frederick was a surprise. The campground is small but with 10 FHU sites and 25 electric/water site within 15 miles of Disney for only $25 a night…It’s well worth it. Stayed in Site 4 which was close to the comfort station, which by the way was clean and had great shower pressure. Electricity was stable. Water pressure at the site was a little low but ok. I would definitely stay here.
