We stayed here before heading to Great Sand Dunes. It was close and convenient for a trip like that! Our favorite part of this site was the beautiful sunrise and sunset that was totally visible in this desert area. It is close camping to other sites and it is very open. We stayed in the overflow tent area are which was nice because it was a little bit further away from the more crowded part of the campground. It was also a little bit far from the portapotty and the full bathroom/showers. There were only 2 toilets/showers so there was often a line to use those, but it was nice to have it as an option.
