Rocky Ridge Camground — Eleven Mile State Park

Great hiking and kayaking

We camped in D Loop, space 89 and had a nice view of the lake. It was 1.5 mile drive to the parking lot for the hiking trailhead and kayak launching site. At this site you have to carry the kayaks to the lake, about 100 yards.

There was a clean toilet at the campground but no water or showers. The trash bin was locked most of the time and we had to take trash to the visitor center bin.

On calm days the kayaking along the southeast shore was amazing with lots of rock formations and islands. That part of the lake has lots of shallow hazards which keeps motor boats away.

The hiking trails wind along the rocky shore and provide lots of vistas of the lake and the mountains.

The electrical hook up did not work at our first camp site however by calling the reservation phone number we were able to be redirected at another available site. Because we had printed out our reservation number and had it available, the process was completed by phone pretty efficiently even though the visitor center was closed.
