This is the old KOA that was bought by RJourney. Great spot central to the trail of the ancients loop.

Great views and affordable

Cortez RV Park is a very nice park, with clean bathrooms &amp; showers; community room with TV, microwave, &amp; pool table; laundry room; good Internet service; outdoor pool (not open in late May); dog park; graveled sites with hookups &amp; some shade trees; great views of the surrounding mountains &amp; mesas; just 8 miles from Mesa Verde; located far enough from Hwy 160 to not hear much road noise, but close enough to drive or walk to shopping or restaurants; multi-level park with tent camping on lower grassy level next to small creek; &amp; cabins &amp; teepees for rent.

We didn’t use all the amenities, but enjoyed the ones we did.

Our only complaint was with the parent company, Rjourney.
We called to get rates while 10 minutes east of town on a Friday afternoon, &amp; was quoted ~$30 per night. The invoice showed a $15 lock-in fee to hold a specific site, increasing the rate to $45 + tax. When I called Rjourney, they admitted that was an error &amp; credited my card for the $15.

We decided to stay an additional night &amp; head into Mesa Verde for the day. The on-site office told us the rate would be $46 for Saturday night. When I questioned the increase, he said they use  “dynamic pricing”, which can change anytime. I called Rjourney later that afternoon, &amp; they confirmed that their pricing can change, despite the fact that the park was far from being full, so we didn’t understand the increase.

Great manager at this park -- very friendly and went out of the way to be sure everything was good for us. Even delivered my mail to my door. The park is basically an old KOA with gravel sites, well spaced with good hookups. Location is great -- Mesa Verde, Canyon of the Ancients, Cortez and Dolores just minutes away. Easy access to 2 groceries, Walmart and gas stations.

We love this friendly, clean campground. There is a 2 acre dog park and a lake right next door. Overlooks the valley, amazing views of the Mesa Verde mtns. Clean bathrooms and laundry facilities.

Lovely little rv park just outside of town. Clean bathrooms, pool, little trail to walk to stretch your legs and well priced. 24 hr laundromat and not overcrowded. With as many empty spaces as they had, you’d think they wouldn’t have needed to put some rvs so close together.
