 This location is available on a first-come, first-served basis only. Visitors are required to physically arrive at the campground to purchase and claim a site. Once on-site, you may be able to pay for your campsite(s) by scanning a QR code using the Recreation.gov mobile app, and the Scan and Pay feature. If this option is available, you will need to first download the free Recreation.gov mobile app https://www.recreation.gov/mobile-app prior to your arrival as some remote areas have limited or no cellular service.

The Best Camping Near Deckers, Colorado

Plenty of water when we went March of last year.   Hiking is on the right side. Camping on the left. There are some pretty neat sites if you are in shape enough to get back there to then. 

Awesome spot

Lucked out and got site 6 around noon on a Saturday. Had access to the creek and hiking trails. Felt secluded. One of our favorite spots in Colorado! 

Great spot!

Long drive out but it was totally worth it . The creek was running nice and it was kinda deep in places. lots of trails and wildlife, I saw 3 mule deer and heard elk calling at night.

This place is amazing, the spot we had was huge!! Beautiful river and so relaxing!! Definitely coming back!! Hiking is amazing!!

Nice, small quaint campground with approximately 10 sites. Takes about two hours driving from any populated area so make sure you have gas and all supplies before setting out!

Very Remote

Several camping spots tucked away next to a creek. More dispersed camping fairly close, in case the campground is full. Bathrooms also on site and great hiking.

What a great little spot to relax for a weekend. It’s quiet and because there are only ten spot it seems like your in a private oasis.. the host Becky and Kirk were great and so sweet. 

Small gem 

We managed to get site 9 on the creek, with shade and sun.  Site was big and you felt free from everyone.  Becky and Kirk are the Camp Host and do an amazing job keeping the place clean.  The vaulted toilets were amazing, the best that I have ever been inside.  Highly recommend

Goosecreek campground 
Access is via CR 211 either from CR 24 via Tarryall Road which turns into Matukat Road from Lake George or alternatively from the north from deckers.

The campground is absolutely beautiful. It sits right on goose Creek and the views are amazing. It sits down in the valley, but a short drive, and you’re absolutely up on top looking out over all of pike national forest.

Each site has its own picnic table and a fire ring. Each fee is $23 per night. There is also a day use fee of $10 if you just want to come in and use their facilities. The area is easily accessible from the main road. Once you are down into the campground, the sites are very spacious. They’re also reasonably far apart so you don’t feel like you’re sitting right on top of your neighbor. The Sites are big enough to pull a sizable rig into. They are not pull through sites. The sites do not appear to have an electric hook up or a water hook up so make sure you come prepared. It’s it feels a little bit more like dispersed camping, but with some Structure to it.
So it’s look like they’re on a first come first serve basis, as it is a drop your fee in the envelope type of campground. 
Restrooms are clean and the whole area looks like it’s incredibly well taken care of by the campsite management team. At $23 a night. It is a good price for a well located campground.
We pulled in on a Wednesday afternoon towards the end of August and the entire place was deserted. We literally had our choice of campsites.
There was no cell service at the campground. 
There are no bathrooms on site.
