Great!
Hosts were very nice! facilities were great !
Well managed KOA.
Most spots are gravel, some full hookups, some not. I would stay again
For once a KOA not next to a freeway. Off the beaten path for a change. Nice grounds. I'm in a basic cabin. It's basic. No ac just a ceiling fan. Nice small queen bed with linens. Within walking distance of good restaurants. RV sites look level and large with trees near most. There is a train occasionally at night that can be annoying.
I recommend Mt Shasta KOA.
Beautiful spot at the foot of Mt. Shasta! Lovely little town I’ve stayed here twice now once in April and once in august. They have four tent camping sites with electric hookup and fancy seating among many other types of sites
We were glad we made the extra drive to this campground at the base of Mt Shasta - temps were cooler than the valley we had just come thru in Northern California and the pool was refreshing. Kids love staying at KOA’s and it didn’t disappoint. We had a good pull thru full hook up site across from the pool. Nice staff and easy check in. Great stopover for a night.
Clean, lots of amenities, friendly staff. Nice campsites if a bit busy. Stayed in a primitive tent slot near the perimeter. Some traffic from campers to reach some small trails.
Arrived after office closure and paperwork was waiting for us on the board. Good restroom conditions, sink for cleaning dishes after cooking and eating.
We've stayed at this campground twice now. Each time was in the summer and for only one night each time. We thought the spots were nice. There was lots of shade offered by the many trees. The spaces were also decently sized. We've been at KOAs much tighter than this one. The pull-through sites were priced at approximately $55 per night. We had 2 bars of Verizon service. I cannot comment on the WiFi as we didn't use it either time we visited. I also cannot comment on the restrooms as we didn't use those either. I loved the woodsy feel and the convenience offered. It's about 2 miles from the I5, which eliminates road noise, while still being an excellent overnight stop. We travel north from Fresno, Ca quite often and we will probably stay here again on future trips.
Good service. Poor maintenance
showers or laundry are closed . Bad camp spots too much dust and no shade at all . Kids may enjoy park and swimming .
Greg took care of us and was friendly and personable. There’s a convenience store and the little town is super close and convenient. Nothing fancy schmancy, but roomy and woodsy, and convenient for our drive down California. :) highly recommend!
We stayed for a week and our campsite was great. Lots of trees for shade, solid fire ring, polite staff. This is a great location for exploring the Mount Shasta area. However, KOA prides itself as a brand who delivers clean bathrooms and these were horrific. Each time was an horrifying adventure with either muddy dirt strewn floors, giant hair clumps, full toilets, etc. There were the cheapest plastic shower curtains that mostly resembled Saran Wrap which led to the water on the floor issue. There was only 1 stool in 1 shower so everyone else put your stuff on the filthy floor or use the 1 hook to hold your towel, yesterday’s clothes, today’s new clothes and your toiletries. I never felt clean leaving that bathroom which made the week stay more arduous than necessary. There was a woman who we saw cleaning the bathroom twice a day and it was the only bathroom for a rather large and busy campsite. Coming from other KOA which are cleaned every hour this was an adjustment.
I generally don't like KOA campgrounds because they feel like small cities. This KOA is different in that even though it has all the amenities and comforts of home it still is removed enough from the hussle and bussles of the city.
Nice size campsites and well maintained facilities.
Great black berry picking through out the campsite and a short walk to Mount Shasta city down town area.
It fills up fast so it's best to make reservations.
standard koa feel to this campground. it was nice and relaxing, well maintained. no complaints.
Nice place it there are no fires.
Cute town and peaceful campground. Clean bathrooms and showers. Pool, game room, shuffle board, basketball court and off leash dog park. Lots of trees in the sites great for hammocking (in the tent sites). I would definitely stay here again.
