Wishon Village RV Resort, near Shaver Lake, is a fantastic spot for both RV lovers and tent campers alike. With a variety of sites, including spacious RV spots and platform tent sites right next to a soothing stream, it caters to different camping styles.

The campground is well-equipped with amenities like clean showers, flush toilets, and a village store that has just about everything you might need. Visitors have praised the cleanliness of the facilities, with one camper noting, “The site was very clean. Fire pits cleaned out, entire site was raked when we arrived.” 

For those who enjoy fishing, Wishon Reservoir is nearby and offers great trout fishing opportunities. If you’re up for a little adventure, Courtright is a short drive away, although some roads may be blocked at times. Just a heads up, music isn’t allowed, so bring your headphones if you want to enjoy some tunes while you relax.

Wishon Village RV Park is conveniently located 75 miles from Fresno, California, at an elevation of 6,600 feet above sea level. It is just a mile from Wishon Reservoir and seven miles from Courtright Reservoir.

Our quaint summer resort features an RV Park with 96 spacious full hook-up sites, a cozy Cabin Rental, and two nicely appointed RV rental units.  We also have a tent camping area and an old fashioned General Store complete with a Gift Ship, Groceries, and activities. You’ll also find bold-fashioned, great trout fishing, and a friendly atmosphere.

The Best Camping Near Sierra National Forest, California

It's a pretty RV park. The hiking trails are great, scenery was amazing! There are fire rings and picnic tables. There is a great store that has everything you could want or need! Bathroom review, again: the cleanest! Flush toilets and coin operated showers! There are water spigots and an outdoor sink area for dishes, so helpful!  Racoon and squirrels are always around looking for food, so I just use a bear can and store my food,here. It's just easier. 
RV sites and REALLY LARGE tent sites! Some of the biggest I've been to. The fishing was good, the only con is music is not permitted at all. Bring headphones. You will be asked to turn it off and possibly leave.  



Shaver lake is awesome! 

Our site was very clean.  Fire pits cleaned out, entire site was raked when we arrived. Site was nice large size, plenty of space. This was our first trip here and we will definitely be back! Make sure to bring bee bags. There were a ton of meat bees! Our site was #96. We visited August 2020.

We have a 35 foot 5th wheel and the spots we like here are 37, 50-52, 38-41. We haven't stayed in any other sites so I'm not sure how they are for bigger trailers. We have been going to Wishon for years and it's our favorite spot. 20 min drive to Courtright. The road is a little windy to Wishon. It's about 40 min past Shaver Lake. There is no signal unless you buy the wifi internet pkg. I can't remember the price but around $15 for 3 days I think. 

Bigger spots

If you have an RV or prefer car camping/glamp set up this is a very nice spot. Lots of RV spots, but I chose to tent camp. Two types of tent sites, platform and ground neither of which has AC/Water. I had a platform site that was next to a little stream. There is a village store on site, showers, toilets, and water. Close to Wishon Reservoir which is great for trout fishing. Courtright is a little farther but wasn't accessible at the time I went due to fallen trees blocking the road. Attended a village church service on Sunday which was the topping on the cake for me. Lots of people around the campsites but partying is prohibited. That being said if you want a little more serene camping experience there is plenty of dispersed camping in this part of the woods.  

For the glamper

  We stayed at this campground may years ago (2006-2008) and it has remained one of our favorites.

  Our most recent stay was for a small rally of 8 class A RVs from 34' to 43' in length all with tow vehicles. Wishon was able to accommodate all of us. The drive to Wishon starts with a long climb to Shaver Lake.  Past Shaver Lake the road becomes windy for the remainder of the drive.  Expect at least a 40+ minute drive from the Shaver lake turn off. On the way you will pass a grove of Giant Sequoia trees with a pull out to walk or picnic among them.

  All sites are gravel and have full hook ups.  Some sites have 50 amp service but it will rarely be needed because of the elevation of 6800 feet. All sites will accommodate the RV, vehicle, boat, and more. Wishon also has tent sites with or without platforms. 

  There are many activities available from this campground. Hiking, mountain bike riding, Jeep trails (Dusy-Ershim Trail), and fishing.   Two reservoirs are nearby, Wishon and Courtright. Courtright at 8200' opens later than Wishon at 6600'. Rainbow and German Browns can be caught.  

  Wishon Village has a nice store with most necessities and sells fishing licenses.
