Great Campground!

My parents took me to this campground a bunch when I was a young kid so I have very fond memories of the area. As an adult, I've tried camping here several times but it always fills up really fast. This past Memorial Day, I was determined to get a spot so I drove up there and snagged a spot on a Wednesday morning. It was only $12 per night so I figured it would be worth it to pay a little extra so I knew I'd have a spot on Friday when we went up to camp. About half of the sites were closed due to dangerous trees so there weren't as many people around. (not sure if they are opened back up yet) The sites towards the back of the campground are very large and spaced nicely. The sites near the front are a little smaller and less private. There is a nice sandy beach area at the end of the campground that usually draws a lot of day use people during summer. If you feel like going for a hike, there are several cool spots down the river to explore. It's only about a 15 minute drive to Spicer Reservoir or Bear Valley if you need to make a run for ice or other supplies. The most important advice I can give is GET THERE EARLY, it fills up very fast and does not take reservations. Enjoy!
