## Overview

 Lake Wedington beckons visitors of many types, those who come to relax and fish all day, those who come to speed along on bike paths or cruise on a boat, and those who want to stay in a cabin as a lakeside home-away-from-home. The recreation area also offers convenient access, as it is located just 13 miles west of Fayetteville, and 13 miles east of Siloam Springs. The facility offers several rental cabins, campsites and picnic sites alongside its the lake. Each offers access to a variety of outdoor recreation opportunities. The area can be accessed by vehicle and a parking space should be available. Guests are responsible for their own travel arrangements and safety, and must bring several of their own amenities. 
## Recreation

 Visitors can enjoy a variety of recreational activities at Lake Wedington. Those who enjoy water activities can go boating (with a motor that is 10hp or less), kayaking and canoeing, as well as fishing on the lake. Anglers can seek out Bluegill, Largemouth and Spotted Bass, Bream, and Channel Catfish, and several other species. Anglers who like a challenge can attempt to fish for one of the few large Grass Carp that occupy the lake. A former world-record Grass Carp was caught out of Lake Wedington, weighing a total of 80 pounds. Lake Wedington also has a dedicated area for those who want to go swimming, picnic, play a round of Volleyball or Horseshoes, and a variety of playground equipment. Surrounding the park, youll find trails that accommodate hikers and mountain bikers. The Lakeshore Hiking Trail circles a large portion of the lake. The North Twin hiking and mountain biking trial extends for sixteen miles from the facility. Hunting is not permitted within the recreation grounds of Lake Wedington, but there are sites surrounding the recreation area that are open to seasonal hunting. Please contact staff or Arkansas Game and Fish for further information on hunting regulations within this unit. 
## Natural Features

 Visitors will find a variety of wildlife, trees, ferns, and wildflowers surrounding the 102-acre Lake. Wildlife in the area includes rabbits, deer, songbirds, and wild turkeys as well as an array of migratory waterfowl. In winter, eagles may be sighted flying around the park. Fall leaves put on quite a show, often attracting photographers. Sloping hills in the area offer great vantage points to take photos of the lake, especially from the Gazebo located just off of Lakeshore Trail. When the lake is high, hikers are presented with a cascading waterfall that can also be found when walking along the Lakeshore Trail. There are many natural features that can be spotted throughout the area to those who keep a keen eye out for them.

 With Fayetteville approximately 15 miles East, Siloam Springs 14 miles West, and Lincoln/Prairie Grove within 15 miles South of Lake Wedington, there are many attractions to choose from. A variety of restaurants and food venues can be found in and around all cities and towns. In Fayetteville you will find a large variety of event venues, museums, shops, golf clubs, and theaters. In Siloam Springs you can find a variety of shops, group activity venues, and the Kayak Park. Around Lincoln you will find a few shops, restaurants, and event/activity venues. In Prairie Grove you will also find a variety of shops, restaurants, and parks. There are many attractions available at, and surrounding, Lake Wedington. My family and I camped out there it was one of the most beautiful places I have camp. The Redwood and oak trees made me feel like I was back in California a bit but the lake was so clear that Clearlake would not be able to compare there is excellent bass fishing Largemouth and supposably small mouth, bluegill,crappie, and of course carp. Theyre everywhere! There is a swimming area which is very nice and away from the tent sites which is great because it lessons temptation 4 people doing wrong. There were showers and bathrooms that are kept as clean as an out door bathroom can be and running water there are tent  sites, rv sites, and sites with electricity. Over all i would recomend lake weddington

Awesome hiking trail and great place for the family but I would avoid the place after dark.

The park is very clean and well kept. There are 18 campsites and 2 bathhouses in the campground. Nice hiking trails and very clear lake with excellent fishing. Firewood is also available for purchase. The park is very dark at night. They are full most weekends and its best to reserve online.

A Great Lake Getaway!

We stayed here for an event at the lodge across the lake and were surprised at how nice the sites were. It is relatively primitive with the bathrooms in need of being updated but they were functional. The lodge side has cabins and canoes to rent. The sites have a table and a fire pit. We were unable to try some of the trails here but will be back.

Great Alternative to Devils Den

A gorgeous park in the Ozarks National Forest close to the civilization in Fayettville Arkansas. This place reminded me of Lake Lure from “Dirty Dancing” with its historical buildings and beautiful lake. Super quiet at night, there were about 18 campsites in the campground (none with electric or hookups), all reservable. This was somewhat a problem as I lacked reservations. While the campground was almost empty (there were only 5 other campers), there were only two sites that were “open” for the night. An impending storm kept many from showing up, and by morning there were only 3 tents still set up. Each site had a nice tent pad that according to the campground host drained well (except for one site on the hill, can't remember which site number, which fortunately wasn’t available), grills, and fire rings. I ended up with site #10 with a great view of the lake. In fact the only thing really separating me from the lake was a nice bit of lawn and the lake trail. The hosts had put up solar lights along the path through the trees to the bathroom, which would have been helpful if not for the relentless rain that kept everyone from wandering about in the dark. In the morning I didn’t have to share the shower house with anyone except the spiders as only 3 other campers stuck it out through the night and their sites were closer to the other shower house. While not modern by any means, the shower house was clean and the water was hot. Just know that you will need to push the water button several times to get a good rinse as it only seemed to run the water for about 2 minutes a push. I didn’t drive over to check out the cabins, but I understand that you can rent a historical cabin if tent camping isn’t your thing.

We loved it here. Tons of trees throughout the campground. The sites are spread out and feel very private. Bathrooms and showers are clean too. No electric or water at the sites but there are potable water spigots available. There's a nice walking trail around the lake as well.

Small clean lake with lots of wildlife and close to Fayetteville.   Kayak, canoe, and fishing, with bird watching, RV and tent camping, and day use areas among the trees!  Some handicap accessible areas.  Improvements and upgrades have been and are being made.

My son and I love the Lake Weddington trails. Haden loves running across the small bridges, throwing rocks in the water, and picking up pine cones. Also walking around, sitting lake side, and hanging out.
