## Overview

 Boulder Beach Campground is located just minutes from Las Vegas along the Boulder Basin of Lake Mead. Its open year-round and features large paved sites that can accommodate tents or large RVs, along with tables, fire pits and/or grills. Restrooms and water spigots are located throughout the campsites. Temperatures usually surpass 100F (37C) degrees June-August. In May and September, daytime highs are around 90F (32C). October-April, temperatures are much cooler. Lows can dip to freezing temps December-February. The area averages 4 inches of rain each year. There is lush vegetation that provides shade, and many sites have pristine views of the lake. Boulder Beach is about a 20-minute walk from the campground. 
## Recreation

 When you stay at Boulder Beach Campground, youll have access to many recreation opportunities. Boulder Beach, Special Events Beach, Canoe/Kayak Beach and PWC Beach are 1-2 miles away. At these locations you can swim, kayak and jetski. If you prefer to explore the park on land, the River Mountains Loop Trail passes right by the campground. This paved trail is more than 30 miles long and leads to the Historic Railroad Tunnell Trail near the Alan Bible Visitor Center. Other nearby amenities include the Hemenway Harbor Fishing Pier and boat launch ramp. At the Las Vegas Boat Harbor or Lake Mead Marina you can rent a boat for a few hours or dine at the docks. Lake Mead Cruises is also nearby and offers cruises seasonally on the lake to the Hoover Dam and back. ~Air tour noise may be present at times throughout the day. ## Facilities

 Each campsite provides space for up to eight people with one camping unit, i.e., motor home or camp trailer. A maximum of two motorized vehicles, four motorcycles or combination thereof if towed or carried on or by a camper may occupy a site. Paved roads lead to each site, and the sites are asphalt or concrete. There are multiple water spigots and restrooms spread throughout the campground. The restrooms have sinks and flush toilets. There are no showers. Accessible sites are available. An RV dump station and water refill station are located near the entrance of the campground.

 Boulder Beach Campground is like an oasis, because of the lush vegetation that shades nearly every campsite. There is a mix of palm trees, oleanders, mature cottonwood trees and native vegetation that also helps provide privacy between sites. Most campsites offer views of Lake Mead, Fortification Hill and the River Mountains. Wildlife in the area includes many species of birds and lizards along with antelope squirrels and the coyotes.

The campground was quiet for as busy as it was during July. Being Nevada it was pretty hot and humid next to the lake, but it was actually a good place to camp with plenty of birds, nice flowers and easy access to the lake for swimming, boating, and such. The tent accommodations are a raised flat gravel bed that was generously proportioned. They had shut off the water for sections of the campground due to drought, but there were still enough open spots in the areas that still had water service. I know quiet and clean sounds boring, but it was just what we needed after a long day of driving and playing in the heat. 

Quiet, clean, nicely laid out, lots of birds

The lake is just outside of Las Vegas so it makes for a great last minute camping destination. My only complaint would be the price. $20 to get into the recreational area and another $20 for camping. 

There is water available at the campground along with bathrooms, fire pits and tables.. The campground itself is about a 10 minute walk from the lake. No great trails nearby, but great for family trips or a nice wavering by the fire.

Expensive sites but worth it to be so close to the Strip and still have the feel of camping on a gorgeous lake!

Lake Mead

Nice flat RV parking with hook ups and some spots have Wii Fii although with all the beauty around you you should find no need to use it. We had wild burros walk through the campground every night we were there. Nice showers and picnic tables. Ramp for your boat is close by and a nice convience store and laundry facilities,

We love the desert and this place was a gem . I have to say the wild donkeys were awesome and funny. We can see stars in the nights sky for miles so if your a star watcher then this is the place for you. Close to vegas but far enough to be with nature.

Great place

Boulder beach campground is pretty, but on weekends it is crowded. We like coming here for it's proximity to the pwc launching area. The sites are well kept, and there are some with plenty of shade. You can even find a few with views of the lake, which is great.

Beautiful old campground, with lake views from nearly every site. Original half was built by the The Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) in 1939, with the additional half built in the 1960s. All sites are first come first serve, with tall trees, clean restrooms, water on tap, and friendly hosts. The "newer" side has been renovated in areas, along with the RV dump station area.  Cell service and shopping nearby in Boulder City; great bike trail, River Mountains Loop Trail; short walk to the lakeshore.

This product is promoted for improvements in your Health &amp; Wellness (vitality), Aerobic Performance (go faster &amp; farther), Altitude/Air Quality (I'll update my review this summer in higher altitudes), and Recovery (from fatigue &amp; hangover, lol). I can't say I noticed any difference in any of these areas. Perhaps it will benefit me the most with higher altitude situations, since I can feel the shortness of breath in higher altitude environments. Overall, we felt this product was non-effective, and we would not recommend it or purchase it in the future.

Ranger Review:  Boost Oxygen at Boulder Beach Campground, near Lake Mead, NV

Pros: Boulder Beach was a reasonably priced and decently quiet campground with a wonderful view of Lake Mead. Most if not all of the sites had shade trees, which was also a plus. The campground had flush toilets, sinks, and potable water.

Cons: No showers. I will never quite understand why a facility would choose to go to the effort of having flush toilets and sinks, but not go one extra step and install showers (even coin-op ones for revenue!). The only other con I can think of is that the boundaries between campsites were not quite clear? In the loop where my site was located, each site had a tent pad but there was no rhyme or reason as to where they were located. Basically, every site was designed differently, so I had no idea if I was in my neighbors site or not. It ended up working out, but i could see that being an issue if you have a grumpy neighbor.

But at the end of the day, I'd stay here again if I was in the area!

Great views and experience

spent a hot night in June passing through. Thankful for the hook ups to run the AC! Gorgeous, Quiet, starfilled night. Right near the lake.

Close to the beach, basic amenities

The first trip to Lake Mead Recreation Area we went to explore a little. Knowing that the Railroad Tunnel Trail is right at the entrance we had already decided we wanted to keep it close because we wanted to do that trail before we left so we didn't want to get overly consumed with getting to deep. We opted to check out the closest campground to this entry station, Boulder Beach Campground.

When we first entered we expected it to be right by the marina based on the description of what we were told, but it was not. We continued onward only to notice that the sites were about a half mile out from the actual water, not a real beach campground.

The sites ranged in upkeep from nicer to not so nice and sadly the nicer were further from the waterline than the not so nice. It looked like the typical crowd of people who would set up along the shore were the same kind of campers you don't really want camping around you, those who come in party and leave their trash.

Sites are $20 no matter the location but it really looked like the sites closest to the "beach" were used more for day use than overnight and it didn't look like there was anything really stopping them from doing so.

So the positives of this campground though are still enough to have you wanting to stop in if you are trying to enjoy the overall recreation area and have a basecamp. Potable water, WIFI, well maintained restrooms, close to numerous hiking areas and also very close to the Visitor Center where you can get maps and information about the area.

TIPS:

* Choose the sites a bit further from the water, sure it isn't beachfront but even those closer are not really front and center so save yourself the trouble of potentially having some not so great neighbors.

* Check out the Hoover Dam only a couple exits up from this entrance station you can find the dam where they have tours and some of the most interesting history of the area.

* Venture into town and check out the Clark County Museum, stay out of the bright lights of the strip and have a more unique to the area experience.

Love being close to the lake, but beach is far. No utv riding and boat launches are in need of repair.

For camping at Lake Mead, this is as good as it gets!  Full hook-up sites with concrete slabs, picnic table, views of Lake Mead, and cell service too!  There are also manufactured/mobile homes with full-time residency, but the residents are very quiet and welcoming to visitors.  Lots to do in the area with biking/hiking trails and scenic overlooks in the near vicinity.

Awesome parking spaces roads are wide easy to maneuver with even a big Class A bathrooms are clean dog friendly and the host is really a nice person.

Couldn't find a spot in 2 other campgrounds around Las Vegas Valley so decided to try Boulder beach and must say we were delighted and suprized! Wonderfully beautiful campground with super clean restrooms! Watched the super moon! Perfect night!

Impromptu wonderful overnight!

After 4 glorious days kayak camping along the Black Canyon, we moved our basecamp to Boulder Beach and spent a couple of days getting reorganized to hit the road further north. Since the wind was too strong to get out on the lake, we opted to bike along the path that runs next to the campground.  This gorgeous path is well-utilized by area cycling groups, and they are some of the most courteous and safe cyclists we’ve ever come across. 

Each site has a picnic table, fire ring, and all the sites are paved and level.  Don't normally love paved campgrounds, but the wind is so strong at times that it would be a total dust storm without them. All sites have a nice view of Lake Mead, but there is no water access to the lake from the campground. The bathrooms have running water and are kept clean and well stocked, but there are no showers. Water spigots are scattered throughout the campground and there is a sewage dump for RV’s. Most of the sites are designed for large RV’s, but there were some tent campers there as well.

Closest town is Boulder City, about 16 miles away, and has everything you need. There is strong cell service in the campground, and free wifi.

Nice Blend of Shade & Sun on the Shores of Lake Mead

Stayed here after flying into Las Vegas. Sites were wide open. Some car traffic is heard, it’s right next to a fairly traveled road. Very clean sites and bathrooms.

Walking or biking distance to the lake. No dogs are allowed on the beaches there. That is a bummer!

Always super clean and friendly people.  I love that it is 20 minutes from my  house to the campsite!

Couldn't get a camp site at Red rock campground, or Valley of fire so we "settled" for this campground and glad we did. Even though the RV campgrounds are next door almost every one was in a trailer. But all was good because quiet time came and all the generators turned off. Park Rangers patrolled and we friendly and bathrooms were spotless!!!

It didn’t have full hookups, but there was water, a dump site and fire pits. Some other campers ran there generators too late and too early, but it was a beautiful site with wonderful shade and eucalyptus trees.

it's inside lake mead. easy access and plenty of camping spots for trailer/rv and tent camping. Nice walk to the lake. There are restrooms. What I didnt like was no night attendant. We had someone parked in our spot. overall it's a good family camping spot.

Good getaway spot

We stayed here to try out our new trailer. It is a mix of camping sites and vacation homes. The sites are all clean, and have full hook ups. Picnic table, fire pit ring and stand up grill. Staff is really nice. Full restroom with a clean shower and laundry mat. Less than a mile walk to the lake. 

Not Pretty but still great! 

Although we visited the lake the date it reopened; Memorial Day weekend it wasn’t too packed. We found a spot close to the restrooms and everyone kept a safe distance. I’d highly recommend water shoes as this portion for the lake is full of rocks all different sizes that are unavoidable. Either than that my family and I had a wonderful time 

Beautiful views

My parents got a new pop up trailer and we went and tested it out.  The campgrounds offer showers nice and clean a bit far from our camp area but still none the less available. Very clean and well kept and only a short drive to Boulder beach, keep in mind if you plan to walk to the lake going down is easy getting back up is a hike. Overall a nice campground and any time of the year is good here, being vegas you want to choose anytime other than summertime. Fishing, boating, swimming are all allowed, and pets as well just keep them on a leash.

Nice camp ground

This is a nice area right outside of Las Vegas. Driving or hiking around the reservoir will give you some great views. The campsites are a little tight, but there's plenty of rooms for a vehicle and a tent or two. There are plenty of trees that provide shade and each site has a picnic table and a fire ring. You won't get to see the lake from the campsites but it is just a short walk away. The campgrounds are well maintained and make for a pleasant experience.

Stayed here for a night in late September 2020. Upgraded shower facilities would earn another star from me.

- Good, easy to use connections in the site
- Nice views (if not blocked by other RVs

- National park entrance fee or pass required for access to the RV campground in addition to nightly camping fee 
- TIGHT spaces, everyone sandwiched in
- NO shade or shaded picnic tables in very hot sun
- Unairconditioned restroom facilities and cramped showers are a disappointment


Pros and cons

The sites are nice and flat with full hookups and a great view. The staff was very friendly and it was easy to get a spot and checkin last minute. The only thing is the cost is a bit high. If the weather is nice and you don't need hookups for a/c etc then try to camp right next door at the campground. The campground has trees and more of a chill vibe. Both are nice though and the view is the same. There's gonna be some noise at both locations, lots of light, and people very close to you. But everyone seemed nice and friendly. Note: dogs are not allowed at the beach.

This spot is stunningly beautiful.  We were there on Thanksgiving day and the owners still came by to make sure everything was ok.  RV spot right along a big open field in front of Lake Mead.  All sites are beautiful and clean.  Everything worked perfectly.  Five minute drive to Hoover Dam.

Top notch campground 

We camped here on the shakedown trip for our new Alpha Wolf 22SW-L. We got one of the lower sites with a lake view and it was great. The view was spectacular! Only gripe is that the cable wasn't working and they offered no solution and certainly didn't discount the price. I would stay here again.

Lake Sites are the Best

We stayed in mid March for 6 nights, spot 902. The place was packed the entire week with in and outs. Extraordinarily friendly hosts. They drive you to your site on arrival and are around if you need anything. This site is on National Park Land so it is a few area to enter $25/7-days (they do accept America the Beautiful passes)

Our spot was a pull through with full hook ups. If you want a view of Lake Mead and they don’t have lake view spots available avoid the 900 spots (9th street). Clean well kept bathrooms and laundry. About a mile walk each way to Boulder and Special Events Beaches (or a quick drive - you can drive right up to the water). Also two minute drive to the marina and 10 min to Hoover Dam and 40 minutes to the Vegas Strip.

Would make a stop here again if we were back in the area.

Boulder beach  

I purchased a travel trailer for my wife for her birthday and this was the first trip. We stayed at the NPR campground at Boulder beach. Campground was excellent! Potable water is close to all sites and all have partial shade. As we pay 10 per night with senior access it was perfect!

Went camping for the first time in mothers day weekend and we had a gd time the campground is clean the bathroom are clean

The Dyrt has the listing for the same spot. There are two completely different areas, the campground site is directly next to the RV village. The campground has potable water spots throughout and is completely shaded with lots of foliage. The RV village has a few permanent residents, but there are many spots in the front, rear and side of the village for rv campers. There was no tent camping in the RV village, but you can tent camp in the regular campground next to it. The best spots are right in front of the village, which had at least 20 spots that are able to be reserved. Full hookups in the RV village. All front spots are on concrete pads, so no guessing if your rig is balanced. There is a little general store on property and its also where you check in. Went in the spring, when the weather isn't too bad at Lake Mead. You can walk to the lake, but it is a looooong walk. You can drive your vehicle right onto the lake shore and park directly next to the lake. I did this a few times when there. It was great to back up the truck, open the tail gate and sit right on the lake shore. Boulder City is a short drive with plenty of food and activities to check out.

There is a campground and RV Village next to eachother

This review is for Lake Mead - Boulder Beach Campground.  Disperse Camping. No hookups.  We chose site 87 as it is a back in site with a beautiful view of Lake Mead.  Very level, paved site with some shade from the trees.  Only stayed one night as the RV got to hot during generator quiet hours 10 pm - 6 am. We had to pick up some trash left behind by previous campers.  AT&amp;T and T-mobile coverage.  Has running, walking, biking trails available. Near the Hoover Dam.  We visited the Marina Restaurant one night for dinner and drinks.  Good food and great service!  Would stay longer in the fall/winter months.

Wonderful views of a beach that you can swim in 31 mile trail with other Trails off of it Hoover Dam it's about 6 mile walk from here super clean sites with clean bathrooms and great host say hi to Teddy she's the nicest

We went for a couple nites as a year end thing. To end 2020 on a good note.
Found out quite a few spots, mostly pull thru, have their own water. This is a plus went wanting to leave the fresh tank empty for winter.

Favorite local area

It’s a very large campground with a good amount of trees in some locations. There are plenty of bathrooms and places to get water, no showers though. Lots of places for RV’s to park, so keep this in mind when tent camping, there is a lot of people RV camping right next to you. I enjoyed the convenience of the location but it was not a quiet camp ground. 

Boulder Beach Campground 

The campground has lots of trees, vocal birds, and free WiFi. I saw a rabbit, hummingbird, and even a roadrunner!

My partner and I stayed here last night. This morning, we decided to stay another night, so we paid again. We were going to leave the campground to go hiking, so we took a photo of our receipt on the site post in case someone removed it. Sure enough, when we returned later, a couple were in our site. There was no receipt on the post, but they clearly had been there long enough to set up a pop-up shelter. I told them we had paid for the site. The man said they chose the site because it was empty. I mentioned their receipt wasn't displayed, and he said he just hadn't put it up, but I suspected he was lying, so I went to the camp host. The host I talked to was friendly, and said the other host was actually driving around, so she would meet us at the site. I returned to the site to see the man driving away, so I thought he might be going to pay. The camp host arrived and asked the woman where their receipt was. She said the man left to pay. I told the camp host what happened, and she said she had taken our receipt because the site was unoccupied. I told her we had paid, but she yelled at us that we hadn't left anything at the site, so we would have to pick another one. We had specifically chosen that site for shade and proximity to the bathroom. I explained that we sleep in our car, so we didn't have a tent or trailer to leave, but she just kept yelling at us. Ironically, she didn't seem to care much that not only had the other couple not paid at all, but they even lied about it. The camp host later apologized, but made excuses for her behavior. (The thieves didn't apologize.)

I would not stay here again due to the ridiculous "occupy rule," lack of amenities (no soap in bathrooms and no showers), and large amount of RVs (despite an RV village available nearby).

Also, Boulder Beach sucks. I sunk into knee-deep mud just walking into the lake.

WiFi and Wildlife

I spent one night at this campground as I was passing through the area and assumed a campground this size would at least have shower facilities. It is a typical large more for RV than tent camping sites but was OK for a one night stay only because of the view (note only a few of the front sites have a decent view of the lake)￼.

Stayed here for the second half of vacation. Lows in the 70s, highs in the 90s. Only thing is the new reservations required thing. Also did not see the camp host at all this visit. But it was still very pleasant.

Favorite local campground

Took my kids and my mom camping for a little vacation away from the hustle and bustle of Las Vegas. I chose Boulder Beach campground as it was our first time and didn't want to be too far from home. It was perfect!! It was quiet, relaxing and no one was around us so it felt really secluded. At night we watched the bats flutter about and heard a lot of coyotes far off. When we woke in the morning, we had the most beautiful view of the lake. We absolutely loved it and can't wait to go again!! Only thing I wish we had access to were showers. There are bathrooms all over and water spigots really close to the campsites, but if you're tent camping plan ahead for no showers. 

Perfect little getaway

We stayed in the moon-RV park side. Much more roomy and shaded. Good cellular data with Verizon. You can use the RV park side laundry and store.

We loved this place!

We camp here regularly! Same great park but now has a reservation system that we like better. Although there are still 10 first come first served, the remainder are reservation only. Had a great time sharing thanksgiving with the family!

We have family in Boulder City and having the space 46 at Boulder Beach was fabulous.

Could hang with family, then head back to the Campground.  Beautiful area, Campground is fabulous, very quite actually.  Desert flowers in bloom.  Able to do some Day Triping  around the area.  Great location.

We enjoyed our time here, we had a spot overlooking the lake and saw the sunrise right in front of us, perfect!. It is quiet a way from the lake, and uphill on the way back, not walkable with all your picnic and swimming things. You can park lakeside but it's a rough road for RV's.

Staff were lovely, great little shop, nice T-shirts!

The laundry does not accept coins since covid, you can either download an App which didn't work on any of our 4 phones, or load a card to use in the machine, but needed to load a min of $25 to the card!!!. Madness. So couldn't do the wash we really needed (we were not willing to pay $25 for one wash!). This really needs sorting, several people we spoke to complained about it.

Also there is a weird set up in the shower area, there are no cubicles in which you can fit you and your clothes, you have to leave your clothes outside the shower. Not very private. There is another curtain which can be pulled across the 'changing area', but there are two showers, and if you don't know the person in the other shower you will still be sharing the changing area with them!! Needs updating.

Would recommend to pay for the front row lake view spots, worth the treat :-)

Easy to find, very clean, only 10 mins from Hoover Dam (worth seeing once in your life, go on the full 1 hr tour) and 25 mins from Las Vegas. 

Sadly there is no watersports hire on the beach (or none we could find) but you can book boat trips ahead of time from the marina and kayak the Colarado south of Hoover Dam. Google search for providers.

Great campsite

We picked this campground for its proximity to a friend’s home in Lake Las Vegas; we enjoyed dinner with them and then headed to the campground (in the dark) for the evening. 

  

For quite some time, there had been no sites reserved at all but when we took a closer look at it several weeks before our stay, we found that all the best sites had already been snatched up! IMO, the best sites are D77, 79, 81, 83, 85, and 87 (for the best views of the lake). Site D65 had a sideways view of the lake and was on the end of the loop (so there was some traffic passing by). 

  

All sites were paved/concrete and mostly level. Sites were all in good condition. Many are back-to-back compromising privacy to a degree. A large concrete picnic table and fire ring complete each site. No hookups at all. 

  

The restrooms were basic but clean. No hooks, shelves, paper towels or hand dryers, or SOAP but for $10 (with the senior pass) I’m not going to complain too loudly. There is a dump station. It looks like there is a swimming beach, but I did not check it out. 

  

Overall, a very quiet campground(despite some generator use).

Lake Mead camping

Easy reservations on recreation.gov, great campsite with bathroom and water access. No showers, but the price was great. Will be back for a longer stay.

We stayed at 90,it's beautiful here. Peaceful,roomy,and beautiful landscape. 

Beautiful site

Wonderful campsite overlooking the lake and beach. No hookups but dump station and water available at the entrance. Can walk to the beach and marina.

Amazing views

Friendly and helpful place. It's clean and huge grounds great hiking and plenty to do. Has pool game room zoo is close. Very beautiful grounds I will definitely come again and recommend it 

Fantastic place

Busy campground, no electric but ok in March only 70 degrees. Beach is rocky and not to inviting but nice to look at from distance.
