Tall ponderosa pine trees create a rustic "camping in the woods" experience and provide shade on hot summer days. Firewood and ice are available for purchase at the campground. The campground is very busy on holiday weekends and during the County Fair. Nearby attractions are Flag Extreme Adventure Course, the new county Bike Park, Archery Range, Military Museum, Model Railroad Club, Fair Grounds, Equestrian Arena and Cross Country Course, and the Pepsi Amphitheater where concerts are held regularly. Just a few miles away down Lake Mary Road, you will find fishing, water skiing, and relaxation on the beach of Upper Lake Mary. Fort Tuthill County Campground is open for both reservations and a first-come, first-serve basis. Camping areas include RV and tent sites with picnic tables, fire rings, nearby portable toilets, and water spigots. With nearly 100 sites and 4 Group Areas, there is room for most everyone! There are 8 RV sites with water and sewer hookups. Electricity and shower facilities are not available. Generators are allowed with typical "Quiet Hours" being observed between 10:00 p.m. and 6 a.m. Your pets are always welcome at the campground; however, pets must be on a leash at all times and never left unattended.

The Best Flagstaff Camping | Arizona Campgrounds

We enjoyed this campground, the cool weather, pines, and trails made for a nice escape from Phoenix. Our site was surrounded by other sites and roads, not as secluded as I like, but I will stay there again.

The campground itself is ok.  Fairly large sites, lots of trees.  No electricity, but water spigots scattered around.  Fort Tuthill County Park is huge with an incredible amount of activities: zip lines, adventure courses, equestrian courses, bike and hiking trails, etc.  So the place offers a lot but can also get very crowded and loud, particularly on weekends, with generators, loud cars, and human bustle.

Lots to do around here!

We were looking for a place to get out of the heat for the weekend for a trial run in our "new to us" conversion van.  This place was perfect because it was just close enough to civilization that we could get something if we needed it (which we did) but far enough out of town to feel woodsy.  We also liked the reservation system because we couldnt afford to drive up and hope that a space in a first come first serve campground would still be available by Friday afternoon (Thursday is the new Friday).  The campground itself is pretty average but nestled within the tall pines it is quiet and relaxing. There were a few people with generators but they have the larger RV spaces on one end and the smaller camper/tent spaces on the other so we actually didnt even hear the generators except when walking around the campground.  Also there is quite a lot to do at the county park here not to mention the natural attractions around Flagstaff.

Fabulous quick&easy get-away

We have visited this campground several times. Not as secluded as most, but a nice safe place to camp and explore. The staff is nice and easy to deal with. Gets super busy on weekends, but during the week it is less busy and spacious. Great place to enjoy the pines and get some fresh air!

Great Campground! 

This campground has been built to try to maximize the existing trees. Because of this, it’s heavily treed at each campsite and the roads are a little narrow and squirrelly. 

Each site had a picnic table and fire pit. 

The camp hosts are very attentive and friendly. The trash receptacles are large enough that nothing is overflowing. 

I do recommend that people be very careful maneuvering around the site. A few years ago we brushed a tree limb with our motorhome and busted the side - this most recent visit we saw someone back into a tree. 

I also wish that the campsites and road were more clearly distinguished. 

Tucked into Pine Trees

After arriving, I could already tell this place was well maintained and respected by all who camp here. Very spacious, lots of tree cover. Traveled here for Overland Expo West 2021 and couldn’t have been more pleased with the location chosen. Although a bit cramped with all the overlanders that came. Was definitely a great place to camp. I will return.

Nice campsite with some kind hosts. There was a concert playing at the county area next to the site which provided some nice background music. The concert was over at 11 so it wasn't too distracting while going to bed. We showed up last minute for a first come first serve and they still had quite a few available on memorial day weekend which was lucky.

A lot of sites here as well as trash, bathrooms, etc. Sites were pretty close together but overall a nice stay
