Off the Alaska Highway near the Canadian border, Lakeview Campground sits on the shores of a small lake managed by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. This free campground accommodates RVs under 30 feet in most sites, though a few spots may fit larger rigs with careful maneuvering. Each site includes a picnic table and fire ring, plus bear lockers for cyclists and motorcycle campers storing food.
Vault toilets stay clean, but campers must bring their own drinking water or filter lake water. The wooded sites still provide good solar access for panels and portable units. Lake access at the bottom of the campground loop offers paddling and fishing opportunities, with a short trail leading to a bird blind for wildlife viewing. The nearest services are 45 miles away in Tok, while Deadman Lake Campground provides another option six miles southeast.
