    Samoa, California

Samoa Boat Ramp County Park, near Samoa, CA, offers a unique camping experience with a mix of pros and cons. This spot is essentially a large parking lot with some fire pits and picnic tables scattered around. It's not the most secluded place, so don't expect much privacy. You might find people walking through your area, especially at night.

The campground has some basic amenities like drinking water, toilets, and showers, though the showers might not always be open. Pets are welcome, and you can have a campfire, which is always a plus. However, there are no electric or sewer hookups, and you can't reserve a spot in advance—it's first-come, first-served.

One of the standout features is the location. You're surrounded by water, and you can hear the ocean while looking at the towns across the bay. It's a great spot for boaters and kayakers. The views are pretty spectacular, and you can drive right up to the beach, which is a unique experience.

Some visitors have mentioned that the campground is well-maintained, with clean restrooms and a friendly camp host. However, the area around Eureka has some issues with homelessness, which can make the place feel a bit sketchy at times. But overall, if you're looking for a basic, no-frills place to camp with easy access to the water, Samoa Boat Ramp County Park might just fit the bill. Just be prepared for a bit of noise and a lack of privacy.
