    Gansevoort, New York

Welcome to Moreau Lake State Park Campground, nestled near Gansevoort, NY. This place is a gem for anyone looking to escape into nature without straying too far from civilization. The campground is open from May 6 to October 13, offering a perfect seasonal retreat.

The campsites here are spacious and shaded, providing a good amount of privacy between neighbors. If you're bringing an RV, just be prepared for some maneuvering around the trees. Loop A is your best bet for big rigs. Generators are allowed, but most folks are considerate about quiet hours, so you can expect a peaceful stay.

One of the standout features of this campground is its access to Moreau Lake. Whether you're into hiking, paddling, or just lounging by the water, there's something for everyone. The hiking trails are well-maintained and offer a range of difficulties, making it easy to find a trail that suits your mood. The lake is perfect for kayaking, canoeing, and even a bit of fishing—though it's catch and release.

The campground is pet-friendly, but note that only two pets are allowed per campsite. The restrooms and showers are clean, though the water temperature can be a bit unpredictable. Still, nothing beats a shower after a day of outdoor activities.

If you're planning a group gathering, there are two pavilions available for rent. And for those with kids, there's a nice playground to keep them entertained. The beach area is a big draw during the summer, complete with a snack bar and gift shop, though these might be closed late in the season.

Access to the campground is straightforward, just off I-87, with plenty of signs to guide you. If you feel like exploring beyond the park, Saratoga Springs and Lake George are nearby. A visit to the National Horse Racing Hall of Fame in Saratoga Springs comes highly recommended.

So pack your gear and head over to Moreau Lake State Park Campground for a memorable outdoor experience.
