Mediocre
Wapiti Campground has easy access to the Shoshone River and there is a nice trail that goes into the mountains behind it. But not much else going for it. The sites are mostly exposed patches of rocky and dusty ground. The bathrooms are just outhouses and you have to forage for your own firewood; you can’t buy any on site. It’s unmanned without any amenities. My site (#30) was ok but this is really just a place for rvs to park. Camp hosts were nice enough to give me some firewood. I would not go back though. Also: it’s about 2 hours from any of the popular attractions in Yellowstone.
