The Best Camping Near Bangor, Wisconsin

This is a very well kept campground. The bathrooms are clean and so are the sites. Lots of pull through sites and full hook ups. They have two pools and a hot tub! They recently set up a Bloody Mary bar on the weekends and have bands by the lower pool. The lake is awesome and they have a small beach for campers to swim. Overall an amazing campground and we love it!

Clean campground 

Great place to go kayak, decent place to fish, and good access to bike trail. The lake is about 600 acres in size and about 11 feet deep at the deepest point. Lake Sturgeon, Bass, Muskie, Pike, Walleye, and Bluegill can be caught at this location.

The campground is more for motorhomes/rvs and the "glamper" types. Not ideal for tent campers. You can also rent cabins of all sorts of sizes.

Lake Neshonoc is great!

Lake Neshonoc is a local favorite! There is so much to do in La Crosse county. Shopping, food, hiking, boating, fishing kayaking. Although this is a very clean campground with lots to offer to me is more like a tiny home 55+ with a golf cart at every trailer. There are maybe five tents site a few rv sites but this campground is all about the seasonal members. I felt a very clicky vibe as well. Like new comers weren’t welcomed. The campground five minutes up the road is hands down all around way better.

This campground has a fun vibe with great views if you are looking for lots of activities for kids this is a great place it’s a little too busy for our liking but it is a really nice campground. 

Busy Campground

We stayed over memorial weekend with a group of friends. With 2 swimming pools, daily activities, movies, and a full ice cream shop you won’t be bored here. The owners were super friendly and helpful. If you’re looking to escape into nature, this is not your park. If you want full hook ups and a summer camp family experience, this is great. Our kiddo had so much fun at the pools, the top one is very large and new with a splash pad area. The lower pool is older and smaller, and where grown ups tend to go for a dip. The sites are split between full timer seasonal sites and daily campers. The site are all level, have a fire pit and picnic table. They are pretty open, so you’re close to you neighbors and little shade or privacy. All RVs here, some tents as overflow for kiddos whose parents are staying in the RV. Kind of pricey, but it’s worth the money for all the extras you get. Super easy back ins, plenty of space for extra cars or shade tents on the site. In the evening there was a Glow Parade where the full timers decked out their golf carts and drove around- candy for kids and lots of dancing. Bingo, tie dye, outdoor movies, and other relay races kept the kids happy and adults amused. Sunday night a jimmy buffet cover band played. A lot of fun and we’ve already booked for next year.

So.much.fun.

We stayed over Memorial Day Weekend at site 183. It was spacious and very well kept, with a great view of the lake.  Wry easy to back in and get set up, almost level and took very little adjustment to get our spot in order. Neighbors were friendly, kids found other kids to play with, and lots of activities to keep them busy. We found the seasonal campers super friendly and nice to chat with. The sites are all flat with a gravel pad, some also have concrete patio and all have nice fire pits. While there aren’t a lot of trees or shade, it was a great site with our awning out. There is a nice sized heated swimming pool with a kid splash pad area, and you can boat on the lake. Bathrooms are well kept and clean, with nice shower facilities that area accessible. We have camped here before, and have already booked again for Labor Day weekend. The staff are helpful and friendly, and the outdoor movies on the weekend are a fun way to wind the kids down. Nearby recreation of the LaCrosse River trail for biking is a short drive away, and plenty of exploring can be done within a 30 min drive. Bring your bikes and enjoy this gorgeous area.

Great campground for a weekend RV

This campground came to us through Thousand Trails Collection.  At first we only had a W/E site and later was able to move to a full hook up site.  All sites has a gravel pad with a grass yard, fire ring, and picnic table.  The fire rings are sunk completely into the ground for some reason.  The lots were spacious and the property offered a large pool, hot tub, restrooms, showers, laundry room, fishing and canoeing.  This is a pet friendly park.

Totally seasonal camp ground. Fantastic booking and check in. Shower water be careful - not filtered. Beautiful and well laid out camp ground. 

Heading east

This is a huge campground. It feels like a true old-school “campground” not an rv resort or even an RV park. The kind of campground you loved as a kid. It is hilly with mature trees, although not every site has shade. It is very family friendly. There are RV sites, cabins, tent sites and park models. A lot of long term people live here. The sites are grassy or gravel and are very roomy and level. Lots of activities for the kids…basketball, horseshoes, volleyball, sizeable pool, and playground. This place is older but very clean. Very friendly staff. 
The lake is absolutely stunning. Snag a spot with a lake view if you can! (See map pic). 1-2 bars on AT+T.
