This is a fairly massive RV community on the southern edge of Clear Lake. While a small body of water, it’s fairly deep and perfect for some light sailing and excellent for a great day of fishing. The grounds are a mix of being dated and in the midst of being repaired. When I visited, half of what I saw was being renovated, while the other half look like it desperately needed it. There’s 2 key areas here, and both have a combination of RV’ers that have parked their mobile for a long time(just check the decking around some of these mobile living rooms), while there’s a number of open sites that you can book on a daily or weekly basis. There’s all of the typical hook-ups and a number of diversions like horse shoes, basketball, swimming pool, etc. to keep everyone pretty active, especially the kids. While there’s a not a ton around Blackhawk RV Campground, about 10 minutes drive will take you to the nearest town of Milton, which has a handful of restaurants, shops, grocery stores and some cool antique shopping(if that’s your thing). Insider’s tip? Head into town for a nice meal at Millhouse Bar& Grill and then mosey on over to The Hitchin’ Post for a few whisky nightcaps. Happy Camping!
