Steelhead Lake Campground

Lake access defines the experience at Steelhead Lake Campground near Sumas, Washington, where sites sit close together and kayakers or boaters will find the most reason to stay. Amenities are basic but functional: each site has a fire pit and picnic table, and a plumbed bathroom with showers is on-site. Staff are reportedly friendly. Non-BC residents pay an added $20 CAD surcharge on top of the $23 CAD nightly rate, so budget accordingly before booking. Silver Sage Rv Park, BC is another option in the region for comparison. Paddlers with a flexible itinerary may find it worth a night.

Not Great

You can tell this park is not one of BC’s favorites. It’s a very barebones campground and you’re right on top of each other for the most part. If you’re into lake kayaking or boating it might be your style but I didn’t enjoy it. Sites are $23 CAN/night but if you’re not a BC resident there’s and added $20 CAN fee. Sites come with a fire pit and table. There is a plumbed bathroom with showers and the park staff were very friendly but overall I only took this spot because I was in a bind.
