Wildflowers, glaciers, and meadows abound

Gorgeous backcountry campground, complete with privy -- makes roughing it even easier. Water is easy access from Fisher Creek, which is just down the hill. No fire pits available. This site is about 6.5 miles west of the access point on Hwy 20 at Easy Pass (which is a bit of a misnomer, but probably the easiest in the area). This is the perfect site for a medium sized group, with a number of “tucked away” spots for individuals, couples, etc. The views of the glacially carved valley (filled wall to wall with wildflowers in July/August) and multiple glaciers/snowfields is fantastic. Bear canisters are required, as the predominant fir trees in the area are not conducive to hanging food. Black bears are definitely in the area during the summer months during berry season, as they leave their calling cards on the trail. You are also sure to see a great deal of other wildlife. Cost=free! Permit required from NOCA Visitor Center.
