Cosho Camp — North Cascades National Park

Up, Down, Down Some More

Hike about 10-11 miles in via Easy Pass Loop (which is anything but - we logged something like 2800’) and enjoy sweeping views of the Cascades. Wildflowers in the summer. It’s beautiful everywhere in this park, but this hike was a little demoralizing - you climb switchbacks for 3 miles up, get about 10 minutes of view, then immediately drop down into the valley. You hit 6 miles at Fisher Camp, which sits at the base, then hike an additional 4 miles to Cosho through forest. The site itself is lovely and spacious: you’re right on a beautiful river (great for water refills), there’s a fire pit and grill, lots of soft flat ground for tents, a pit toilet, and even a couple logs to sit on. It’s better than Fisher Camp for sure, but I don’t know that either are worth the switchbacks down/up.
