Loved the location - the beaches were surrounded by pine, wetlands, and tall grasses - it felt remote and not overdeveloped!

This campsite is comfortable! The provided insect screen kept us well protected in mid-sept. The hosts had extra supplies tucked under the table which is always a nice touch. There was a swinging grill grate on the firepit, which was great for camp pizzas! Lastly, it was luxurious to be able to wash hands, dishes, and yourself in the shower area.

Site is very private; I never saw anyone (but the hosts are very easy to communicate with and readily answer any questions). at&t and verizon worked at the site but not the beaches. You can hear some cars, but there is hardly any traffic.

Lastly, due to a lack of wind, flies were bad on the beach. I would recommend bringing an insect screen if you have it. If you're coming through Mattaponi, check out Diggs Seafood for deviled crab and crab muffins!
