Lover's Leap Campground at Natural Tunnel State Park is situated in a region characterized by rolling hills and dense forests. The area experiences temperatures ranging from the 30s in winter to the 80s in summer. Nearby attractions include the Natural Tunnel, a geological formation, and hiking trails that offer scenic views.

Lover’s Leap Campground - 18 electric-water hookup sites

Up to six persons are allowed per site. The only exception is for immediate family.
Each site has a campfire-ring grill and an extended-top picnic table.
Firewood and ice are sold at the campground host site.

Two vehicles per campsite. There is additional parking by the bathhouse (an additional daily parking fee applies there).

Quiet hours are from 10 p.m. through 6 a.m. Only overnight guests are allowed in the park after 10 p.m. Guests visiting campers should park by the bathhouse and must pay the daily parking fee.

A volleyball net and horseshoe pits are in the campground area.

EW - Electric and Water Hookup Sites (LL 01- LL 18). These sites are for tents, pop-ups and RVs up to 50 feet. Electrical service is 20, 30 and 50-amp. All are back-in sites and have a campfire-ring grill, picnic table, lantern post and utility table. Campsite 9 is accessible to the disabled and is near the bathhouse. The site is not reserved strictly for those with disabilities. Tents and all other recreational equipment should be set up within the campsite’s boundaries. The campground bathhouse has showers, restrooms and a laundry facility.

The Best Camping Near Duffield, Virginia

This was my third visit to the NTSP - I really enjoy the camping, and the pool and Natural Tunnel are great fun.  Each time I've camped in Lover's Leap, and all the sites are well spaced.  Have stayed in #3 and #5, and #12 which is even more private.  The restrooms and showers are always clean, and there is a nice laundry area as well.  This trip we took a car ride to Big Stone Gap, a thriving little town about 30 minutes north of the park - it's a nice quiet but interesting town, with a nice dog park.  Took a car ride to Gate City, south of the park - wouldn't recommend it.  It's a city on it's way down.  The short ride to the Blockhouse in the park is interesting, with nice views of the mountains.  The ride and hike up and down to the tunnel is always fun.  In the summers they light the tunnel one Saturday night each month, so it's worth trying to plan for that.

Come Back Again and Again

Lovers Leap Campground is best and newer. No sewer but dump station. Sites have water and electricity and a very nice bathhouse. A hike to the tunnel is a must. Towns of Big Stone Gap and Norton VA visit for sure. 

Worth the trip  

We camped here for 2 nights. 
We reserved a spot at the Lovers Leap Campground. The sites are very spacious and private. It comes with the usual amenities like a fire ring, picnic table, and a lantern pole. There was even an extra little wooden table on every site. 
The campground is very well maintained. Everybody from rangers to volunteers was super nice and helpful. 
The bathhouse is extremely clean. The showers are separate from the restrooms. 
The other campground, Cove View, is not as private and spacious. 
We also drove by the cabins and the primitive campsites. The cabins look fantastic from the outside. For more adventures you can also rent a yurt.
There is also a little campstore that has firewood and some essentials. 
The area is very scenic. There are not many trails but there is still a lot to see. The tunnel is spectacular. Make sure you ride the chairlift (dogs allowed to ride with you) down to see the tunnel and creek. 
Also plan a quick trip to see the blockhouse and learn about the history.
The park has a lot of activities for all ages. Check out the calender and see what you like.
We would definitely visit again.
