The Best Camping Near Strasburg, Virginia

Nice and clean family campground. It has playgrounds from the kids and the bathhouses are clean. Both times we have been there the hosts are always very friendly and knowledgeable. Great hiking trails taking off from the campground and a stocked trout stream, will keep the kids and kids at heart busy.

Only drawback, it is a typical pull-in family style campground. While it is nicely wooded there is not much privacy from your neighbors.

I love this campground. It has wooded camping sites. There is spaces for rv and tents which is nice. There are a couple of sites that have a path to the creek that flows behind the campground.There is also plenty of hiking trails to be completed around the campgrounds of various levels from beginner to more strenous.

Great campground with tons of trails for awesome hiking. Different levels, easy to tough. No water for group camping so be aware and bring enough for your trip.

This little camping area consists of first come first serve sites, so don’t plan on arriving late in the afternoon and find a spot. 
There are about 24 sites and they are very close together. Do not think of this as a secluded camping experience. 
Proximity to the creek is ok for some sites. And proximity to the road is very close as well. There are bathrooms. 
There is no cell service in this area. 

Good location 

Camped along the Elizabeth Furnace trails this past weekend. Originally intending to stay in the campground, we discovered that all first-come-first-serve plots had been claimed. 

We set out along the numerous trails to find a spot that would provide us with some privacy from day hikers as well as proximity to passage creek to do some fishing. The forest is beautiful, the trails are very well marked and preserved.

This is a great, accessible, and approachable spot for campers of all sorts. Easy access to several trails with a variety of difficulties, including the challenging Maneka Peak Trail and Signal Point loop, or more tame options in and around the site. Very popular and often crowded spot, but for good reason. Good fire pit availability, nice amenities, overall a good camping experience!

Stayed first weekend of Spring, some of the campsites are on a creek or river. Only $1o due to Covid, loads to do including a rather enormous grass clearing for picnic, bridge and cabin, fishing and hiking complete with billboards describing the hike. It was beautiful and the stars at night were breathtaking. We met one of the volunteer park rangers who suggested we drive about 15 min into town to Woodstock to a viewpoint and right below is a local store where they make THE BEST homemade sandwiches and desserts.
