We visited for the day & tried to picnic here. This is the only picnic area on Cub Creek Road. This is odd because the picnic sites are intermingled with the group sites. It made no difference on June 6th, because the whole area was closed& employees were doing.....something. We ended up picnicking on the boat ramp with our lawn chairs & it was outstanding!

    I would recommend this campground on the basis of it's scenic beauty. It's primitive with no utilities. They state flush toilets, but we couldn't check that out. If I had a tent I would be all over this. Just remember, it's a group camp & you may have a lot of partying neighbors. We visited Split Mountain Group Campground, no overnight stay
