So Beautiful
Beautiful established BLM campground near Moab. The sites across from the river are somewhat open, but are spaced apart nicely so you still feel like you have privacy. The sites along the river are “walk up,” meaning you park your car in the spot near it but set up camp under the trees along the river.
$20/ night, self pay, no host, no reservations.
Each site comes with a picnic table and fire pit. There are vault toilets and a trash dumpster. No recycling.
There’s a reservable group site, go to recreation.gov for reservations.
It’s right on the road but it was much quieter than we expected it to be. You’re surrounded by gorgeous scenery and it’s so peaceful and quiet. We loved it here.
Near the entrance is a signboard and trail that takes you across the road to the Amphitheater Loop hike. Nice hike but part of it is a bit of a scramble going from right to left but if you take the loop starting to the left the trail where the scramble is is a bit easier to find…keep an eye out for the cairns.
There is a boat ramp near the day use area.
Zero cell service for any of the carriers but the cell booster did help some and allowed for some light browsing and very slow uploads on the verizon phone.
