A gorgeous place to wake up!
We moved to Lower Onion after a few nights in Big Bend and loved how much more scenic and quiet it was. This was one of our favorite campgrounds in the Moab area and highly recommend it. It's so worth the 25-30 minute drive into town.
Check-in was easy, but be sure to get there early during high season, especially if you're in a group looking for more than 1 site. The Sites are spacious and all have their own fire pit and picnic table. Toilets are on site and outside - they are walled off but don't have a roof. We recommend bringing extra TP during high season.
Most importantly, the ambiance here can't be beat. Nights under the stars were beautiful and the sunrise and cup of coffee with the amazing rock formations in every direction really couldn't be beat.
