Hidden Gem!

Hidden in the middle of red rock canyon this campground was great! Late check-in greeted and led to site by security. Campground was quiet and peaceful. Woke up and saw the splendor of this place! Clean showers and there are plenty. Well kept grounds and great laundry room. They have signs up to wear masks but respected social distancing due to not having one. The drive here from New Mexico was just as beautiful!

Location is Everything - and what a location this is!

Simple but lovely campground with an incredible location, setting, and view.

We were fortunate to visit in February and had the park nearly to ourselves. I’m busy times the sites might be close together but given the gorgeous setting of tall red rock cliffs in nearly every direction, it would likely still be great.

In non-covid times the proximity to monument valley would be ideal for touring it. We used it as a base for adventures in Cedar Mesa/Bears Ears and loved it for that.

Campground itself was super clear, facilities were great, and staff was friendly and helpful. Yes, it’s still an RV campground and therefore not the solitary experience you’d find boondocking but this is in the upper echelon of RV full hook up spots we’ve seen.

Full service getaway in Monument Valley

The perfect place to fill up during a Utah adventure. Great location, clean and well kept, and had everything we could think of: full hookups, good WiFi, on site laundry, a camp store, restaurant, and gas station. We had done 4 nights off grid in dispersed sites before this, so it was great to empty our tanks and fill up on water. We arrived after dark but it wasn’t too hard to navigate. I went over to the camp store and found a number to call for after hours registration. Within a few minutes security came by in a car and gave us all the info we needed for our site. We really appreciated that he was wearing a mask. MUST SEE: In the morning we did a short hike/walk to The Arch which I highly recommend!! It was about .5 miles from our site and absolutely stunning. NOTE that the road to Monument Valley is closed as are all parks / destinations in the Navajo Nation (due to COVID).

Great location, not much of a camping experience

Monument Valley is definitely off the beaten path.  There are very few places to camp here.  What makes Goulding a good choice is the location.  It’s within a few minutes drive of Monument Valley. The camping spots are really just a parking space, but the campground does provide showers, laundry, general store, restaurant, museum and interesting history.  Take the time to visit the local museum.  Fun to learn about the films made here.  We’ve camped here several times, but never hang out at the campground.  We mainly use it as a jumping point to explore all the other things this area has to offer.  Definitely take a Jeep tour.  We did a tour that included an dinner and Indian ceremony. It was an incredible experience!

Best RV campground in area with access to Monument Valley and

Stayed at the RV park when visiting Monument Valley in May.  The campground is with 5 miles of the MV entrance.  Clean restrooms and great sights.  Even a few hiking trails off the back of their property,  They also provide complimentary transportation to their grocery store, John Wayne Movie theater, Restaurant and Museum/souvenir shop.  Sights were level with water elec and sewer.  Large washeteria and basic sundry shop on location.  It is also a great location for visiting Mexican Hat, Gooseneck Turn and other regional attractions.

No shade but very convenient

We visited Memorial Day Weekend. The campground was empty because it was HOT. The campground is a basic dirt field with only a few small trees. We took the site that had trees for shade. Each site had a picnic table and fire pit. The campground has a cute history and fun touristy things to check out... and it's convenience to Monument Valley is superb. Although the views from our site were less than desirable, the rest of the campground offered picturesque scenes of the nearby "monuments."

Great views

If you get to the campgrounds early enough you can set up a tent at the edge. This way you will have a clear view of Monument Valley with no other tents or distractions in the way. Restrooms are clean and close by, so you can walk to them from the campsite. However, it was a little noisy at night because you're camping near the parking lot and some people come late in the evening to set up.

A quiet camp on the hill

The camp is located just across the street from MV. There are numerous clean showers for a charge with flush toilets just located beyond the main store/check in center. We had our pick of the litter as we arrived in early march and were but few people staying the night. The site had your typical picnic bench/fire pit, but we didn't use as it was a bit chilly. We drove across the street to see the sunset over the range from the parking lot. A beautiful use of free time on a clear night. The site was nice a quiet, bathrooms nice and close for a mid-night bio-break. We would definitely come back for the convenience and beauty of this campsite.

A beautiful setting

Monument Valley is spectacular! We were fortunate to stay overnight during a full moon and all I can say is do it if you get a chance. The site is clean, well laid out, super easy access from site to several trailheads. Lots of dog friendly folks and great adventure! A little far from the Welcome Center to walk but an easy drive
